they've said before that expensive fruits are culturally given as gifts and is a sign of wealth. not only that but the fruits are specially grown and genetically selected to be the best and the labor that goes into producing the specially grown fruits is very intensive especially when you get the good kind. There's the Labor and quality aspect. Pizza on the other hand. Isn't fancy. It was brought over from the western world and as you can see in the video, they sometimes use ingredients and flavors regional to Japan anyways so it's still not fancy by any means in terms of quality. Not only that but pizza is easy to produce so it doesn't require that much labor. maybe it's glorified western food and that's why its expensive but even then that's not a good enough reason compared to the fruits in terms of labor and the quality that you're getting
O K I didn't think the food in Japan was sweet at all, a lot is savory, fishy and sometimes very salty (for me) and if you've ever had coco curry then you know Japan can also do spicy. I almost died eating that stuff but kept coming back because it's SO good!
Japan knows how to everything 😩 Last night I was whining about standards and quality and how I desperately wanted Japan to open a state in the US (I dream BIG) and I would move there in one second flat. They advertise accurately, the photos match the food and products tend to live up to claims and so many things are thoughtfully crafted! Ugh It enrages me too!! Dear America, take a HINT. Attention to detail and considerate execution. Why is it de rigueur there but an exception here??

I guess when a company charges that much for their pizza, they can afford to make it good. In the US, the competition to make the biggest pizza for the least amount of money has really affected the quality.
Here in Australia mom and pop type pizza places have to compete with Domino's so they mostly manage to do Quantity and Quality. Most of the time I would prefer to order from a mom and pop store because I can get the best bang for my buck.

dont do it! I've had colored hair- pink, blue, green, purple, grey, red- you name it, ive dont it. it will kill your hair, ruin your shower (it's been years and the walls are still tinted purple), and it stains everything. Canned Tuna on Pizza should be served with red onions (a lot) and mozzarella cheese. Than you Tabasco the whole thing and it’s actually very delicious in my opinion.
One of the worst pizzas I ever had was this one where the sauce was this sickly sweet flavor. Apparently the people making the pizza thought it was a good idea to put several cups of sugar in this really cheap pre packaged sauce..... it was horrifying but a perfect match for the crust which honestly tasted like taking a bite out of a brown card board box. Thankfully the cheese had zero flavor but did have delightful plastic like mouth feel.

Pizza tonno e cipolla is honestly the best pizza. Not only does it taste good but when you cook it the smell of the onion and the warm tuna teleports you to Italy, and if you are already there then just enjoy this little slice of paradise.
After watching martina talk about her condition and pains, everytime i watch their videos i keep wondering whether she's a pain. Is it just me? When she was talking about going for a jog, can she really jog? Just concerned, please reply if you see this martina!! Love you guys
I know we worry about her but thats the thing, she dont want us to worry about her...she sometime debates if she should do a video on her because she doesnt want us to feel sorry for her but it does bring awareness...we should be happy because she wants us to...
I don't think Martina would enjoy other ppl worrying about if she's in pain all the time or not. Compassion is one thing, but pity is another. I think it would help her more if we support her when she wants to do things like jog what not, instead of being concerned if she's capable of such things because of her condition. I'm sure she has enough ppl worrying about that and I trust Martina to make the right decisions about her body.
Nah, didnt mean it as pity, i meant in a concerned old grandma kinda way. We nasties are one big family so in a way, we'll always worry about martina. I think we should discuss about her condition more so that ppl that dont know much about it can try to understand (like me) instead of assuming! :)
jade tan I have the same condition and it changes from day to day. Some days you feel normalish some days are bad. So our level of ability varies from day to day

I don't think I've ever had really bad pizza....When I was a kid my mother sometimes bought supermarket microwave mini-pizza. The texture was very...rubbery/gummy, but my sister and me loved it ^^
I had papaya, onion, and mozzarella pizza in Quito, Ecuador. It was very good, when I ate it. It was not so good when I had altitude sickness later. I have not had papaya on a pizza since.

When I got mayo on my pizza in Korea and I was like, "Bruh." I've eaten tentacles that still kick, 족발 (pigs feet, which I love now), intestines, etc but I CANNOT do warm mayo. Especially on my pizza.
When I was living in Vietnam (many years ago as a child), pizza was like the specialty from the west. I remember going to a pizza restaurant (yes restaurant, not just any pizza shop or delivered to your house) and it was PACKED from wall to wall. All the cool peeps were there! And the pizza was EXPENSIVE! Like we could’ve bought 4 bowls of delicious steamy pho for a pizza the same size as the one shown in this vid ...
In my country that is due to the fact that most of the ingredients are hard to find. In Indonesia, good cheese and sausage are hard and expensive to find.
Yosua Nangin ooh that makes so much sense. Even butter is so expensive in Vietnam. I went back last year, a 250g block of butter costed more than an average brand butter in Australia. And that’s expensive for a regular Viet household I think. But since butter is not essential in Vietnamese cooking so they don’t need to optimise selling price.
We have an Pizza-Shop here in Bochum in Germany where you can buy an Pizza with an Fruit-Curry on it. It has all kinds of Fruits on it like grapes, pineapple, peach. There is also chicken and cheese on the pizza. I only ordered it once to try it, but since then i order it all the time. It is super Delicious. There is no tomato-sauce on the pizza, only the sweet curry sauce (like an indian curry). They also have some pizzas with an honey sauce instead an tomato sauce. They are good too. Also we have an pizza-shop here with an good pizza gallina. It has the tomato-sauce, ham, spinat, jalapenos cheese and an fried egg on top, which is delicious.
Checking back in with M&S after a few months... makes me want to visit Japan even more! Much love to the both of you, hope Martina's condition is in a good place right now. Y'all are such a lovely couple and I enjoy the videos of your adventures.
Elk pizza is so far the weirdest, dead elk ( this the european cousin of the moose) and elk cheese. The one I seen but couldnt even eat was Christmas pizza.. in Sweden we have ham, meatball, cocktail sausage, pickled herring, beet root sallad and few other things. They had added this on to a margarita and then baked it, the pickled herring shouldnt be heated nor the beet root sallad, the smell was while but my exhusband ate it on a dare... and was sick a few hours later.
Baked pickled herring smell worse in my mind then fermented herring. At least the elk pizza was good but weird, elk cheese doesnt taste anything fanastic or different all.
