It's always so wild to think someone like Avia, beautiful inside and out, look in the mirror and see anything but an absolutely gorgeous human. I know, everyone has this struggle... but it's a good reminder that we're probably not near as ugly as we sometimes feel when we look in the mirror. I wish we could all see ourselves from an outside perspective, specifically from the eyes of those who love us.
I’m about 10 years older than you, (I watched shaytards when I was younger). But I always find your vlogs so comforting, insightful and helpful. You are so down to earth and mature, which is a really rare thing to find. Keep being you, you’re doing amazing!
Hey Avia, I was exactly in your position last year. I am now almost done with my first year of college and wanted to share some advice. If you have any bad feelings about the college, don’t go. You’re not going to want to stay somewhere you aren’t 100% sure about. I would go in with an undecided major even if you know what you want to do. TAKE CLASSES FIRST. It was a shocker how much my mind changed once I got to school. Just feel comfortable and safe wherever you are going. Or go to a community college for the first 2 years. You don’t have to feel pressured into going to school right away. It’s a big world and you can take your time. Enjoy life!!!
I’m lik3 a year or 2 older and watching your videos make me think abt how I can be myself and just live in the moment and not be as insecure about everything
First of all Avia, may I say congratulations on your college application, secondly, never have doubts about your body image or your looks. I have watched your family ever since you were a cute little child and seen you grow into the beautiful young woman you are today. You should be immensely proud of yourself and the young woman you have become.
You are wise beyond your years! Thanks for sharing your day even when you weren’t feeling your best. It’s so important to normalize feeling all sorts of emotions and everything you mentioned about carving out time alone with yourself is so key. One thing I'll say about college is find one that feels like "home" when you're there. You'll be there for 4 years and you want to make sure you feel comfortable and safe. When I toured colleges, I INSTANTLY knew when I walked on the "right" college for me. People were friendly and welcoming (not just the tour people, but he legit students walking to classes and faculty members walking around campus). The school felt comfortable size wise too and the "mock classes" we got to sit in on were the right size for me too (no 400 people lecture halls, but like actual classrooms).
Your vlogs give me such motivation and make me feel so much comfort as I get ready❤️ I have horrible anxiety and your vlogs always help me so much your amazing girl💐
That is your cycle,4 phases and usually luteal phase you feel like a garbage truck 😂 I literally felt ugly and bawled for most of the day..boom period 💀
0:56 - There will be times in the month where your hormones are up and down and they trick you into thinking you’re not beautiful or you are more tired than usual, but just know that that’s okay and normal! Just love yourself through all changes ❤️❤️
What helps me get out the funk of bring a sahm is praise. Listening to worship and reading The Bible. He's a healer of the mind, body, and Spirit. My favorite worship song right now is Anne Willson- Sunday Sermon(Atlantic remix). I pray your week gets better!!!
i often find my self going through similar patterns . I have realised that i can’t depend on my feelings to define me because they are always changing for example like you said we feel beautiful one moment then the next we’re the complete opposite (it’s so crazy honestly 😭) Anyways for me personally in the times where i do feel in such a way i find comfort in God by reminding myself how he views me because to me it’s the only stable truth .. sorry this is turning in to a essay anyways thanks for being transparent with us 💗
Girlie we all get that way sometimes, but sometimes you just have to overcome. You're going places, I've been watching you guys since you had malakai, you've really grown up, lol I feel old now. I myself never went to college so you are definitely doing better than myself. To be honest with you the personality you have, you will make a very successful business woman but also an amazing actress. I love the family vlogs, makes me feel like I'm part of a family I never had, especially since I am not close with my family anymore due to personal reasons. You keep it up we are all proud of you!!

I want to meet you in person. Avia. I feel so connected to you!! Girl don’t ever feel that comparing yourself isn’t normal. That’s a normal human behavior. Like you said yourself, being able to pick yourself up from those moods proves that you are strong and capable. Don't let a couple of bad comments online influence your opinion of the college. They could well be comments about a different course that you want to enrol on. From experience i've always found the college you go to to be irrelevant anyways. The college I went to wasn't a highly rated one but the people I met are still my best friends to this day and no employer has ever cared about the name of the college I went to. It's a bit of a myth, at least in the UK, that employers care about the name of the college/ university.

That's really good info, it's hard to be bombarded by beautiful filtered people all day every day. It's definitely good to take a break from the phone once in a awhile and get re-centered.

great vlog Avia. We all go through funks sometimes. Its great that you're learning about yourself and how you can navigate having a bad day. That is something I didn't learn until my late 20's. Great job and keep the videos coming.
You're killing it with these vlogs! Congrats on getting accepted into that college!!! I work with 10th-12th grade students and my seniors are also going through "future crisis" and "funks" too. The reality is, leaving high school IS scary and it's okay to be anxious, but it's also SO rewarding once you take the first step post-graduation. You'll find so many new things you'll love, you'll meet new people, and you'll grow in so many different ways. I personally journal/write before going to bed (i've been doing that since high school too) and it's great to sort of get your thoughts down in paper so they're not still in your head while you're trying to sleep. It's cathartic for sure!

Avia, been watching you since the fridge so i guess pretty much the first, I am on my husbands account in case anyone thinks this is creepy. I am 56 and girl just know you are crushing it!!! Life is hard as long as you keep moving forward you are doing a good job as a human. Beauty is something everybody struggles with but as you age that becomes less important just keep doing what you are doing. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB, how you handle your struggles is what makes or breaks you, life is not easy!
Have you paid any attention to where in your cycle you feel more up or down? Hormone fluctuation is definitely a thing and just that awareness can make such a difference. Check out the book In the Flo if you want - a friend of mine swears by it for scheduling your life optimized around your cycle. Honestly makes a lot more sense than trying to shove ourselves into and judge ourselves by a 24 hr cycle that's more geared towards men...
