Travis your so funny, I saw jumping from high places and doing dangerous stuff...but with Balut?!!! It really scares anyone, but that is so delicious for us Filipinos... you put spicy vinegar and salt inside , before sipping the broth. Then open the top shell into almost half then slide it into your mouth leaving the remaining shell in your hands.
You can’t eat it if you look at it,once you crack ,sip the soup with a sprinkle of salt & eat the whole thing except the hard white one,oh that’s deliz
You are brave enough, most people should open the shell and pass out! So I still have to give you a lot of applause!👍😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 你已經有夠勇敢了,大部分人應該打開殼就~昏倒了! 所以我還是必須給你很多掌聲!
They should've said to put vinegar and salt after drinking the soup🤣 That's how I see others do it😄 it'll be tastier if you add it. I don't eat balut tho🤣 but I wanna try sometimes ehehe
From the day you went to the Philippines up to this day, i love how Filipinos doesn't completely understand you and but they try their best to communicate even whiteout you speaking Tagalog once. I love that Philippines is one of the few english speaking countries, around the world. MABUHAY PHILIPPINES!
LOVE IT Travis!!!! 🤣 Your reaction was priceless!!! We just had Balut last weekend. My husband is Filipino & he gagged a lot while I powered through it. The baby duck in our Balut was too far along & practically quacked at us. I had to eat around feathers & nibble on the duck body. It's not my favorite Filipino food, but curiosity made me try it. 😆❤
Tagalugin ko para sayo idol. Nagsosorry sya kase di nya daw nakain yung balut, ''sorry to disappoint you guys'' ika nya. Ang comment ko naman ''wag ka mag-alala kase di naman lahat ng Pinoy nakain ng balut''.
Good on you for trying, Travis! 😁 I agree that balut looks horrendous especially when you see the duck's feathers (and beak!) The secret is to not look at it. When I eat it I always ask for the "youngest egg" which is 14 days old and eat it whole.. with salt & vinegar.. at night.. where it's dark and I can hardly see what I'm eating 😂😅
@@maryfelgalvan na curious ako napa search tuloy ako sa fb haha...matanda na pala to c aleng haydee pero kung maka panlait npaka toxic isip bata haha...akalain mo nag share lng un tao tapos laitin mo agad naku
Hey mate Balut is popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered as a source of high-protein. It is often regarded as an energy booster and is believed to strengthen the knees - literally speaking.
Try it with more salt and vinegar, it will taste like iron if it's plain, once you get past the thought of the baby bird, it will all be easy. Take small bites, and don't eat the white part, we call it the stone, it's so tough.
First time I went Philippines, we were having some Ginebra mixed with C2 ice-tea. I was tipsy when they brought out the Balut. I think it gave me courage to try it. It was actually alright. Just like a boiled egg with more texture to it 😅
Hey Travis! I love the vids! But I also want to recommend going to Pangasinan man, you can literally enjoy a hundred islands in one go. The place is called hundred islands on Alaminos Pangasinan. Keep safe in the Philippines! Enjoy your time in our country!
that's the worst food in the Philippines to be honest i am filipino but i don't like some filipinos recommend that to the foreigners eating balut there are so many delicious food to recommend but why balut.
There are way more Filipino food like sisig, banana cue, kaldereta, dried mangoes, chicharron, lumpia, etc. that we can offer to our visitors especially foreigners (not just balut, that most Filipinos don't eat). I get it, balut is part of our culture (especially in rural areas) but it doesn't help in promoting our cuisine. Most Filipinos don't eat balut. At least he tried lol
We Filipino don't judge by the looks of the food we judge by the taste. I don't like shawarma and taco it looks good but the taste has the aroma of sweaty pubic hair.. Eeeewwww... Never eat that again.
I'm Filipina and I don't eat that either. I love Filipino food especially the fruit and vegetables!!! You gotta try Buko Salad it's amazing and super delicious. It's a coconut fruit salad.
@@solkalibri1376 Sir, don't tell people what to do. People aren't obligated to eat balut, LMAO! @Travis, you did a fantastic job of being receptive to tasting balut!
Another one here. Tried it I don’t have to have it again. Yes I’m 100% Filipino. The pinoys get a kick out of watching foreigners brave it while in fact we don’t all enjoy balut. Just like we don’t all eat with our hands or raise our leg on the chair and rest our arm on our knee when eating. And boodle fight popularized by vloggers is not common in the Phils either but it seems exotic, unfamiliar and fun so many do it now. But NONE of these is common irl in the Phils. Yes I grew up in the Phils.
@@solkalibri1376 Just because she doesn't like balut doesn't mean they are not Filipino. Not everyone has the same taste buds My Sister who is BORN in the Philippines who is allergic to eggs includes Duck eggs and Chicken eggs. 1. It's doesn't matter what you eat if your born in the Philippines YOU ARE FILIPINO/FILIPINA 2. Everyone has different taste buds 3. ALLERGY TO EGGS 4. It's there opinion 🤷
It's all in your mind. You remind me of that one video I watched about a family of white people where they were eating for the first time Filipino dishes and the parents and one kid (a girl) loves them and there there is one kid (a boy) that doesn't want to even try because it does not "look" American or white dish. The parents were introducing to their children other cultures thru food but the boy acted in ignorance and without even trying a little bit prejudicially rated the food as "bad and not even good enough to try". I see the boy as very weak and lame.
That's what you call "Mind over Matter" Travis..😂It always starts in your mind.. You were not used to it,,So we understand..haha..🥰 Balut is actually tasty and delicious !❤️ .
Balut make your knee stronger, if you can't eat the whole thing you eat the yellow it's nice, even me I can't eat balut but sometimes I try to eat in the dark place and successfully did it.
Wow, you did it dude. Am a Filipino but as I remember in my entire life I tried only maybe twice. But for the biginners I think you should go first with the Pinoy Balut which has no chick or just starting to develop. Anyway, watching here from KSA and your new subscriber. Love to see you are enjoying our country while staying.
You failed big time bro ahahahaha but seriously even myself being a filipino had hesitations about eating balut when I was younger but now I get the hang of it, so its understandable bro
It is more delicious when you pour some vinegar (tuba) on it then salt. I love balut so much. I bet if someone taught you the right way of eating balut maybe you love it too. Better you tried.
I used to hate balut but there is a way to eat to eat, sip first the soup inside the egg, removed the shell and pour it down in spicy sweet vinegar and leave it there for 8 to 10 secs and you can eat it and will taste better
BRO. ...YOU HAVE EATEN IT THE WRONG WAY, THATS WHY YOU TASTE IT BAD. YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO PEAL ALL THE SHELL SPRINKLE WITH SALT AND POUR IT WITH VINEGAR AND AFTERWARDS YOU EAT IT AS A WHOLE.
@@alphsno472 Am not forcing him, just trying ti explain how it was suppose to be eaten. Thats why you responded you have not eaten one. Just trying to help not forcing.
Big ups for the guys on the street whose first instinct upon seeing money about to fall off a man's pockets is to warn them about it. If it were somewhere like Egypt, that shit would be gone
You need to eat Pancit, the Filipino National Dish. I’m Italian and learned this from my Filipino friends, and even made it. It’s a rice noodle dish with veggies and meats, shrimp. So good!
I like balut but i dont like the baby duck I just eat the yelow one 😁 its better if u put alittle salt and vinegar on it. They not teach you well on how to eat it . You can try the fried one also if you cannot eat the fresh one 😊
Maybe you can eat it again you must need a proper instruction to eat it. When i was a kid i hate balot then i try it i separate the yellow part and the chick and i only eat the yellow part that when i started to like it until i practice how to eat the whole thing.
