When the Carolina Hurricanes visited Pittsburgh on March 26, 2024, Jake Guentzel returned to face off against the Penguins for the first time since being traded. Guentzel is a 2017 Stanley Cup champion, and amassed 219 goals, 247 assists, and 466 points in 503 games with the Penguins, in addition to creating many memories off the ice as well.

It would be nice if Jake signs a 5 year big money deal with the Pens to remain a DUO with 87 this offseason. Remember, Dubas is known for big money 5 year short deals with superstars in Toronto. If not, I hope Jake gets a huge money 7-8 year deal where he wants to live or play.

I am mad he was traded, yet at the same time I know they were stalling on contract negotiations. I think I'm more mad he was traded for so little... Maybe they'll resign him in the off season, but probably not.

he said in a post game interview tonight that he wanted to stay and Dubas wanted to move on, so idk about these "contract negotiations" stalling, sounds more like Dubas wanted a guy he coached in Toronto in Bunting, because that's why he does as a GM.

@@Kaidyn04 quite possible, I was going off reports I head read from even before Jake's injury. Either way, I wish we still had him, and I'm not entirely digging Dubas, though I'll give him at least a year as Hextall sucked so bad and he had to inherit that mess. I've also been less than happy with some of the less productive core, but I'm not a GM and not qualified. I just know something is off. Even before Jake left something was rotten in the state of Denmark (rather, Pittsburgh). Starting to wonder if it's the coaching.

The kind of deal that would've seen GMJR swing, so not sure how Dubas gets away with this shocking roster. If we haven't pre agreed a future contract with him to immediately return, we need to fire that GM.

This is the absolute worst tribute video I've ever seen. It's complete cringe. Why didn't they just show highlight goal after highlight goal instead of the goofy nonsense with the robotic voice? He deserved better.
