So sad about the death of Dave Smith, this must have been one of the last videos he did, RIP to the man who made sequential circuits then DSI then back to Sequential after Yamaha gave him the name back. This is a legend who will go down in history, and so so sad about his recent passing. RIP Dave 😪🙏🏼🙏🏼

It’s really great that this video exists. It’s a landmark that should be preserved forever. I wasn’t lucky enough to know Dave personally, but I miss him.

We Miss You Oberheim, Welcome Back!

Oh my God. I can't even tell you how happy this makes me. As a kid growing up listening to 80s pop and hearing Van Halen's JJump, Prince and the Revolution and ultimately gravitating to prog rock through bands like Styx and Rush, both using OBXA keyboards, if it is true that a new OBXA is coming, my poor dcredit card will weep, but I will finally own a dream synth of my own. I have an OB6 desktop0 and will probably never part with it, but an OBX or OBXA or even an OB8 would be absolutely amazing. Thank you, Tom. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

OK... Now you MUST deliver something extraordinary! Which I am fully confident you will!! God Speed, Gents!!

I ran into Mr Oberheim at the Moogfest in 2014. We talked briefly about synthesizers and making them. He recommended taking a class or two at maybe Berkley for electrical engineering then try to apply. Well, if the offer stands, I’d love to work for you.

Well this certainly is exciting news for synth enthusiasts! A few thoughts I had were 1st Julian's music was cool (as always… the guy's got taste), the 1st 30 seconds reminded me of great song intros from Steve Winwood, like on "The Finer Things" and "When You See A Chance". Secondly, as long as these guys are fully uncompromising about sound/tone, then whatever they come up with has the potential to be superior in every way to an OB-X or a Marix12… which led to my last thought… I wondered what the products to follow are going to do to the value of the Oberheim instruments I have now?

i am well and truely in the mood.

I certainly hope reliability won't be an issue. The last one I owned was left in their headquarter's front desk in LA in order to be properly fixed after various failed attempts by numerous techs. I live in New York.
