Rush Golden Ale featuring Geddy Lee & Alex Lifeson. Order: linktr.ee/rushtheband Produced by Rush & Allan Weinrib. Music: New World Man from Rush, Signals album. For latest updates visit rush.com
Seriously could we get a tv show of these two going around different breweries/wineries just touring the facilities and taste testing drinks. I need that in my life.
I think since about 16 years old. But interesting thing I just learned that is not really talked about was the Jeffery Jones was the actual original bass player. He suggested Alex have Geddy join the band in his place. Jeffery went on to play bass for Red Rider and Tom Cochran. I thought that was very interesting connection.
@@berts558 I don't think that's absurd at all. I think if they'd been friends since five or six, we could rightly label that absurd. Seven or eight? Maybe amusing, or perhaps even silly, but I don't think it qualifies as absurd. I could be wrong, though, and I'm not trying to start anything.
@@canadianroot 4 would be absurd. 5 would be shocking. 6 would be amusing. 7 would be fantastical. 8 would be intriguing. Let's just make sure we get our terminology right here.
They don't get enough credit as to just what characters they really are. They're constantly making fun of themselves, too. Like when Geddy tells about their lack of fashion awareness. And how they've tried various types of clothing and sports blazers with the skinny neck ties... all the while thinking they were "cool" and wee able to put their Renaissance fair clothes past to rest once and for all.... but only to later learn that they had failed miserably in the cool fashion department I think those types of "failures" they've suffered while trying to be cool only enhanced the music and made RUSH even more significant than had they been in with the trends, rather than thinking they knew what those were 😄
Normally reality shows make me want to drive a nail in my eye and pass out. If Geddy and Alex did a reality show on TV today the ratings would be insane. People just naturally gravitate to these charming guys.
You got April Wine, Frank Marino, Brian Adams BTO the Guess who and others that broke the mold and got popular and had got records which was hard for Canadian Rock bands back then because of limited over air time and not having solid management and record contracts back then but Rush prevailed and took it further than the rest for rock and prog rock .
I had a good run of live RUSH shows from 1977 - 2015, around 30 shows. Had no Idea how fast life would pass by. Glad to see them laughing and smiling still after all these years !
@@chuckwhite3033 Can only go to so many concerts to see the bands you like if you have to work and can't schedule the time off to go see them unless you want to spend that whole time going to concerts to see your favorite bands musicians . I love the music they made all of it from the early days when they first came out and were played on the radio but I listen to a lot of other and seen a lot other other blues and rock bands and it's impossible to see them all live now especially after all these years where some have vanished all together or they just don't tour any more and come around so we at least have the old music that they all performed on record or live when when we seen them at their best to at least remember those times .
Saw them only once on the Hemispheres tour in the late 1970s in London but been a lifelong fan. Support was Max Webster. I’d pay serious money to watch these two do anything that they considered worthwhile. Geddy is one of the most engaging interviewees I’ve ever seen. Neil was no slouch either. I’m sure there’s a talk show in these two.
My brother passed away January 6th 2022 and he was a big rush fan and as he was going to the other side I play Closer to the heart form everytime I hear that song reminds me of my brother I miss him so much
Seriously the greatest band to ever grace the planet. Rest in Peace Neil Peart. Alex and Geddy, I will look forward to trying RUSH Beer. 🍻 from California.
How many people here would watch or listen to a Geddy and Alex podcast? I don’t even care if they start with talking about their beer and mustard. I just like hearing these guys talk.
I've never touched alcohol, but I'll sip Rush Golden Ale for the Holy Triumvirate for sure. Will gift a few crates to my friends, too! Love these guys too much!
I don't drink alcohol either, but my wife let slip that I'm getting a couple of bottles of the new Rush mustard, so I can partake in the Rush goodness anyway. Maybe you could do the same?
I quit drinking altogether a little over 2 years ago when my daughter was born, but ever since Alex and Ged released this Rush ale, I've been tempted to break my straight-edge ways to give it a shot. Especially now since it's available here in the states! I also need to try that mustard lol
It was true in the 70's, and it's true today. Rush is and always will be a trio of goofy dorks making wonderful music. They may be down one, and they may be making beer and mustard along with music these days, but they're still goofy dorks and I will love them for it for as long as I love.
We need a Geddy and Alex podcast. They have an amazing friendship, and probably have countless stories. Just listening to them reminiscing and laughing.
“They call me the workin’ man. I guess that’s what I am. ‘Cause I get home a five o’clock. And I take myself out an ice cold beer.” So glad I got to see them live even if it was only twice, Power Windows in ‘86 and Clockwork Angels in ‘13. RIP Professor. ❤ Rush for all time.
They became my favorite band in 1975...I saw every tour after that and met Alex and Geddy after a Roll the Bones concert here in Pittsburgh, PA...2 of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. RUSH RULES.
If you had to pick only 2 shows to see, you did well. I really liked Rush from 2112 on. My first show was in Mobile, AL 1981, Moving Pictures I think. I was on my way home (New Orleans) from Spring Break in FLA . I didn’t have a ticket; just pulled off I10 and bought one. They were great. I finished my drive to NOLA that night. Next day, a good friend asked if I was. Going to RUSH that night. So i went again. It’s still the only back to back shows I saw. My next show was in Rochester, NY while in collage there. Show #4 was a private affair in Toronto, a pre-tour rehearsal gig for Signals, no fancy lights, just the music, close up. (My roommates dad was a big wig At Atlantic records). The next show I saw, the one that “buried the barb” was 1986, Power Windows in Baltimore, and again in Nola. I never missed a tour since. My last show was on May 22, 2015, my b-day present from my daughters (who of course are rush fans). That was show #107 for me. Still can’t get enough
... cheers, soul sisters and soul brothers!!!... we are here, once again, together!!!... we are once again, dancing and singing our sacred soul songs!!!...
I would give anything for these Guys to a podcast together. Weekly, Monthly, Bi-monthly, Annually, I just want to hear these guy talk & laugh together for a little while.
Changed my whole musical world. If only this beer had happened when I was making runs from Plattsburgh to Montreal to buy Molson Brador as a minor...allegedly
You are one of the reasons that make me proud to be Canadian...if I had only one word to say about rush it would be integrity. Thank you so much for the many memories....love you guys! RUSH ON!!!
Been to 4 or 6 of their concerts in Charlotte and Greensboro, Even in the Hampton Coliseum. Grew up with Rush! Listen to them at work Every day! Cheers to my all time favorite Rock Band!
I swear, I absolutely love these guys. The fact that their friendship is still as strong as ever speaks volumes to their character. I really wish they had a show of some kind or could get a role in a comedy movie. That would be icing.
Gentlemen- please do a podcast. Have Bob and Doug Mackenzie on as your first guests to have a "Beer Roundtable" It would be a massive success. Cheers!🍻
Dude the mouse in the beer bottle for free beer comes to mind but that was Molson but would do the same for some Moosehead being in the south with peanuts and seltzer beer neck beards lol.
Seeing Roger Waters sour his relationship over the years with David Gilmour, it's so wholesome to see these two still get along and love each other so much. Heaven doesn't exist, but if it did, Neil would be smiling down on them ❤️❤️❤️
And there-in lies the secret to all things "Rush" - a spirit of joy and camaraderie. It permeates the men, the music and the legions of fans. And now beer and mustard. What a wonderful world!
