ARMY.MIL - U.S. Army Housing Services Office presents an introduction to Fort Hood, which is home to Headquarters, III Corps. There are currently 52,000 Soldiers assigned to Forot Hood, which spans 340 square miles near Killeen, Texas.
I was stationed at Fort Hood from 89 - 91. Those were some of the best times of my life! Sometimes when I think about those times, I become so nostalgic it almost makes me cry. Corny, but true!
It may just be the way I was raised, but why is everyone hating on Fort Hood? I know there has been 2 mass shootings there in 5 years (which is so wrong), and the people who say that this place is boring must be city people. And the reason why it was brown for awhile WAS BECAUSE OF A DROUGHT THAT NO ONE HAD CONTROL OVER! I live right in Copperas Cove, which borders with Fort Hood, and I love the sight of the military. Makes me feel patriotic.
Omg I used to live in Cove, I'm in the city next to it, Killeen. And it's actually amazing living near Fort Hood. And ik what u mean, it's not that boring here, people never been through the entire city I guess.
Spend time at Ft Hood in 1993,1994. Remember a place called Gatesville, Tx outside of Ft Hood-best Chicken fried steak I ever had. Unfortunately, ran into a lot of chiggers there, too.
there are also lots of seminars for abusive husbands-instead of helping the wifes get the hell away-they are forced to visit counseling -just to get beat up again afterwards when he gets home after * a few brewskies with the guys* all foreign wifes there-get a ticket home, pack your kids while the man is in the field and run just as fast as you can
i was stationed there from 2002 to 2004, & depending on the time of day, it will take you over 30 minutes to go from one side of the post to the other, and that is hitting all green lights
It's actually amazing living in the city next to it, Killeen. It's gotten so pretty here! The drought is gone, and to me it looks beautiful! Its actually fun living in a small town, surprisingly, there's a lot of things to do here! Well not like a big city, like a good amount. It's getting bigger too, and Fort Hood has improved to me, I would suggest anyone to live here. Like in the Bell County area. (That's where it is) It's not that bad trust me
I was station at fort hood from 1986 to 1991 the best tour of duty next to my two tours on the DMZ 85-86 and 90-91 with the 102nd MI BN 2ND ID DMZ radar site #2 ncoic and radar site #1 NCOIC
wow! the BEQ's on ft. hood do look nothing like we had at camp pendelton,ca. the army has a bigger budget than the marine corp; because we have to share the budget with the navy and the coast guard, i am impress.
@specwife I hope for your sake it stays that way-my ex used to be a nice guy as well-until he went to fight in a country far away where he had no business freeing people who didnt want to be freed-and yes your hubby will kill if he is told as welll-thats what he gets payed for. you are right not all men are like that-most of them are members of the us army after tour of duty
Hold up excuse me I went to Fort Hood in 2015 to see my father and I never realized this name what the hell and the f****** convenience is there's a lot of Hispanics
