Presto the Magic Clown was Louisville's very own mix of Bozo and Mr. Rogers. Presto had sidekicks, and magic tricks.
When Presto left the lights of the old WDRB studios, people came in crowds to see him. For Kentuckiana kids of the 1970s, he was a big deal. Bill Dopp's son Jack remembers how his parents invented the "Funsville" show, and one of his biggest fans is keeping his memory alive on social media.

I gree up in Louisville in the 70s and I loved watching Presto the clown 🤡 with J Fred Frog 🐸 and Honey 🍯 Bunny 🐰 🐇.

Presto came to my grade school when I was a child. He didn’t bring J Fred Frog or Honey Bunny, but he did bring his little dog. I can still remember how excited all of us kids were to actually see him in person! Great memories!💕

Does anyone remember *Captain Kentucky* and J Fred Frog growing to monstrous proportions due to Presto performing a spell wrong? And the Channel 32 helicopter always crashing?

Louisville never really recovered after the sewers blew from all the Octa-Hexa-Glop dumped into it, but dang it, Captain Kentucky deserves some long overdue respect from this city!

I watched the very first show and many shows thereafter, but not all of them. All kinds of urban legends through the years have been going around about people calling the show and pranking Presto with F-bombs and so on. Can anyone verify if this ever actually happened?
