It’s one of the city’s forgotten towns - Little Africa.
The town was set near what the community now knows as the Park DuValle neighborhood. It’s where freedmen and women settled after the Civil War and the Emancipation Proclamation.
It was described as a shantytown where many made do with what resources they had and eventually turning it into a thriving community by the 1920s.

“My foreparents were the first Blacks to settle there in Little Africa years ago,” Howard Breckinridge, a former resident said. “We called it the gateway to the South.”

I came here to see if there were any videos about Cotter Homes. When I googled there was no information. I live in California now but from Louisville. I lived on Duvall Drive building 55. A lot of memories there

LITTLE AFRICA:A small section of METROPOLIS was once 🔂 known as Little Africa 🌍, ethnically and culturally favored by African American residents. Their socioeconomic situation led to unrest and reports of substandard conditions. When LOIS LANE arrived to conduct some interviews, she learned how much Caucasians were resented, and she used Kryptonian technology to temporarily pass as an African American in order to conduct her investigation! So another Tulsa Ok?
@main1033

Not really. Tulsa had millionaires and was rebuilt multiple times. So they built a highway through it. Tulsa was considered a national threat to the economic interests in OK. This city is nothing compared to it.

The day we stop labeling each other is the day rascism dies. I rather see you as my friend then your skin color. I know that people were treated like crap in the past, but how does that help all of us grow. When will we stop labeling each other? I don't have a black friend or white friend. I have a friend.
