Everyone in the comments outraged about how a whole town could keep a secret like this obviously hasn't been to a small town in a while. Those people eat secrets for breakfast.
Yeah, this is very small town New Zealand as well. I just went to my Uncle's funeral in a town of 150 people, where he was also the local gravedigger. We had to dig our own grave, job hadn't been filled yet.
Use * [doing something]* instead of "[doing something]" because "[thing]" is for a quote and * [thing]* is for a task or something like that... Edit: i forgot * on each side of a word make it big and dont just stay like that
DragonKidTheGod kids don’t play with guns well😔 cause my cousin was well sorta playing with a gun then he accidentally shot him I was told what happend soo uea
Why is no one talking about the acting and editing!!! The comedic timing was perfect and every actor - right down to those boys - had such quality performances
I'll second that. Everything about this short is great. I knew going in that I hated the premise: imagine being shot and nobody really cares about you, but the short is so wonderfully acted and directed, you can't help but care more for the family/town drama in it.
Meh. Metal detectors are only good a few inches down. He's not picking up any "gold tooth" signals. The only stuff he'll find is what was dropped by the living. It disturbed me too but for a different reason. He didn't know how to use it. You have to swing slow, level and close to the ground. Obvious noob. Not a detectorist. Source? Me, 30 years swinging a coil.
Its a story. Kids raised around guns know how to hold guns, not to run holding them, where to point them...This is not real the actor has never held a gun before. City kids with glocks shoot people
BIG RESPECT to the actors (especially the 2 boys) flies must have been hell, especially in the first scene. At 1:53 flies are in their mouths, eyes. Crazy! These champs pushed right through. Total pros!
Lol it's literally every single day problem it was acting but it was so natural go to any small town event and you will see every single one of these characters. And there's always the stories of bad people being thrown down the mineshafts it's a bush grave really haha
The small town is like a toilet ... It has it's dark and sh*@tty passages but there is the enjoyment of its warmth! 😂🤣 This is dark slapstick comedy murder that had the same formula that made the movie of the 1990s Fargo a hit classic.
It's when you notice the small things, like the rattling of the rifle in the boys hands that makes it seem foreign, and makes him seem even smaller, that you appreciate the film even further.
good ol iron knob, were you could murder anybody you like and easily cover it up in a small town like that by just saying ''I dIDnT KnOW It WaSH leRdEd WiF a Rel BuLLeTSH''
kid:shoots and kills someone sister: oh hey hows ur day going other girl:good hows ur dad? like damn arent u supposed to sceam and hid ethe body already
Absolutely loved this!!! I mean, it was about a murder, but at the same time, it was more about helping out a neighbour who is going thru grief and understanding that they might need some space and time to deal. And yes, what the Russian said is true, save your tears for someone good (which unless you are a child is no one), not for the guilty who in this case I believe was a serial murderer
Yeah all the black people that were hung and burned for people like this they took pictures with the bodies and they thought it was ok because of the color of my skin WOW 🤦♀️🤬
I got a feeling there are a few more bodies out there given how calm they were about it all. And also, how do we know that was the good twin that survived?? The spade that was on the floor next to him makes me question this.
@Trevor Phillips Industries They are Aussie actors 🤷♀️ And many of those people would have been from the actual town since it was filmed on location. I’m confused that you seem to think they’re just pretending to be Australian 🤔
@Trevor Phillips Industries Well acting is usually pretending to be a character. It’s a lot harder to convincingly pull off an accent, culture & character (although the guy who plays Rick from TWD does it really well). And when they’ve got plenty of Aussie actors, why would they look elsewhere?
I applaud whoever made this short film. I fully believe that if you gave this a precursor episode to fully show how down and depressed the whole town was getting, especially the father of the two kids, you could turn this into a full series. The amount you filled out just a few of these characters in only 20 minutes really shows your talent.
mom once told me that living in a small town is like sitting on a toilet seat thats just been used, sure it was its dark and messy history but you can't help but enjoy its warmth. 18:31
Early one morning With time to kill I borrowed Jebb's rifle And sat on a hill I saw a lone rider Crossing the plain I drew a bead on him To practice my aim My brother's rifle Went off in my hand A shot rang out Across the land
Love it @ 5:40.......! "Is he dead?"......"Reckon he might be...." -----> kid says "Hit him with a stick!" Just realized how funny that was now, after my umpteenth viewing.... 😄 😅 😆
Heather: everything ok? Brian: Oh yeah fine, young Barney went and shot himself one of them missing brothers Heather: Really, everyone ok? Brian: Yeah, well except the fulla they shot.
Small towns: Pros, more time to do deep forensics and investigations. Cons, less witnesses meaning people can cover up easier. Big cities: Pros, more witnesses and video recording. Cons, less time to do deep forensics unless it is a high profile case.
It's a comedy. The reason they're so chill is because it's suppose to be one of those small close knit backwards towns where everyone knows each other.
