Thank you for this video and all others. This was really helpful to give me ideas on how to organize my studio and let me know I'm not too far off. I would love to see an update. Great suggestion about the stretching with the yoga mat. I often get obsessed and sit all day. I did this the other day and then went for an hour walk with my wife. I had severe leg cramps she had to go get the car while I sat in a bus shelter. 😌🇨🇦📿

Hi Stephanie, I'm Cindy. Thanks for giving the tour of your work space. It is so organized and very impressive. I especially like your "box of shame". It feels good to know that I am not the only person who owns this kind of box. I keep most of my beading supplies in a couple tackle boxes. I used to fish a lot. So I have all my fishing stuff in the garage. One day I was looking out there for something to organize my beads. I decided that day that beading was more important than fishing. I emptied all my tackle and never looked back. I also have a lamp/magnifier that I bought at JoAnn's. Works great. Keep those tutorials coming as there are a lot of us watching them. OMG! So organized!. You have a box of shame and I have a room of shame. Your creative juices have room to flow. I have enough beads to start a shop. I started collecting about 18 years ago. I am a nurse traveler and trust me I have spent about $1,000.00 on beads, gems, semi-precious stones, crystals and tools in each port. I have not been beading that long just collecting but I knew someday I would be beading. I was hook when 18 years ago another nurse invited me over to her place to give me a demonstration of her beading and on display was the most gorgeous pieces i could ever imagine. I was hooked but I worked a lot and shopped a lot so no time for actually beading. I was a "wanna be". Now I am and I love it but creative juices don't flow in the midst of chaos. It helps to watch your tutorials and it keeps me focused. I started beading about 4 years ago and I usually had about 3 or 4 projects going at the same time. Now, I am more focused. Your room is an inspiration. When I get myself organized I will definitely send you a picture. Let's see, it's 2018 now so maybe by 2025? Sorry, I didn't mean to write a dissertation.
What is it about nurses? My friend fits your description above! She has been beading and doing needlework and ceramics (and some metal smithing) for years, and as she neared retirement she added weaving, kumihimo, and fabric dyeing to her list of addictions. Now that she's retired, she can do all of them as much as her time and budget allow. (Her husband is EXCEEDINGLY tolerant about having surrendered the living room, dining room and garage to crafts supplies storage.) You nurses are all just frustrated artists!!! :-)
Still catching up on all your videos as I am way late to this party. :) Your space is so calming and such a perfect size for your needs. I love reading in the other comments that people come sit with you while you bead. What a welcoming space you have. You can tell from your videos that you enjoy being in there and how you have it set up works for so well for you. I am currently trying to set up my own creative space in our spare room. It is a multi function room so it has not been easy. It is refreshing to see someone who does not have bins full of beads taking over the house. I like how you sort by type and color but keep all the sizes together. Love your videos. I am so happy I found your channel!
Stefanie, In looking at your shelves, I wanted to mention that Amazon has some black metal adhesive hooks that would blend into the color of your shelves. I used them to cover one whole side of my shelf unit and have covered it with hanging jewelry. I love them!

I don't have a separate beading space in my house, so I do all of my beading at the kitchen table. My beads hang out in the kitchen with me, but I've been looking for some type of nice furniture piece to keep them organized so I can have a nice clean look. what a wonderful space, I'm afraid you are now in my husbands bad books..... I have decided I need my workroom completely gutted and redone! Never thought of putting my beads in baskets, or even my desk in the middle of the room, so out goes my drawers in comes shelving. haha thanks for the insight.

And when it gets too warm, when the sun comes around, then I go back inside. I am on disability so then I usually go into my tv room and bead while watching. Thank you for sharing with us. To my wonderful friend and teacher - just WOW...!!! Thank you for sharing your space with us. My beading space is our dining room table currently BUT I did get out the old labeler and conquered my disarray by buying many organizers and now all my beads are stored and labeled like yours - just not in baskets!! LOL What a great idea!! I do like to have a variety of beads in front of me when I am trying to create something of my own but when I follow one of your videos - it's just the materials list (maybe my color choices or Bead choices etc maybe different) but just the stuff I need to create one of your brilliant pieces!! So sometimes very messy when creating and sometimes extremely neat and tidy when I'm following you!! You have inspired me tho to possibly build or add-on a small room to my house when I refi this year because my goal is to also eventually be able to share or sell my work or patterns. I'm only a year and a half into my new life style but I just love it!! And just love you to death girl...!!! You have not only taught me so many fantastic stitches but have also inspired me to spread my wings!! Plus if I could bottle your sweet and soothing voice - we'd all be millionaires...!!!! LOL I worked the Bead and Button show in Milwaukee a week ago (I live in Idaho) so I didn't get to see much or meet many instructors. Were you there? I didn't see you on the list 😔I did get to give Jill Wiseman a big hug and also Wyatt (our wire guy) but would have loved to meet you personally. Awww... I love to see the spaces where people do their work... and yours is very nice! I like the idea of your putting in some sort of small comfy sitting space where you can relax, read, flip through magazines etc -- somewhere to take a break (with your cute cat) and find inspiration. Thanks so much for taking us on a tour of your beading studio. It is very nice, bright, and looks like a wonderful place to escape and bead. I have a large 6 foot wide desk that I am transforming slowly into my beading space.. it has 4 drawers down each end of the table and it is just the right height to put my computer type chair in and just bead away... Thanks again for the tour of your special space..
Thank you for sharing your space and ideas for organizing. I recognized your lights right off. I invested in one of them late last year, it's absolutely the best spent money ever. I love how one can tailor the light with the warm and cool diodes. I can see so much better with it. I have two sister kitties that I bottle fed when their mama was killed. I love them dearly but they are no help at all when I'm beading. Maybe some day they will be as calm as your precious sidekick. 😊

Perhaps you could put something on the wall that you face, things that make you happy. A favorite piece of art, or a collage of photos of family, friends, and fur babies. What a brilliant way to upcycle your broken lamp! I always wondered what your camera set-up looked like (since your video images are so clear and sharp and in-focus). 11:57: "I would love to see pictures of where you work and where you store your beads." Oh NO you wouldn't. That would result, at best, in an intervention by kind, caring souls; and, at worst, by a visit from Social Services as they dragged me away, clutching a trunk of unfinished projects. hahaha It's always interesting to see how people organize things. I've organized my obscenely large collection of beads primarily by color, and then by size within each color family. I try to keep everything in clear boxes/bags/packaging/sliding drawer units: it's just faster to find things by visual identification instead of reading labels. My friend who is a jewelry/fiber artist and occasional teacher keeps her store of beads (and I do mean, literally, she could open a store with the amount she has!) organized by size.
I'm the same! I absolutely LOVE the beautiful beading room I've created! The room itself really inspires me to bead, as it's super-organised, and very comfortable, and I can listen to music or an audio-book as I work - there's a huge hand-crafted desk with a massive matching bookcases to showcase my favourite pieces and a matching long coffee-table by a leather sofa with 2 beautiful framed paintings my husband did for me, hanging over it, and an extra-large potted plant on either side. The sofa is useful for when I need to change positions or to sit and share a cuppa with potential buyers while I show off my latest pieces! And I've FINALLY had the carpenter come in and build a floor-to-ceiling cupboard the full width of one wall with 3 huge sliding doors to hide all of the shelves with my huge stash of beads, findings and tools, etc. It's a very tastefully decorated room with a Turkish Rug over timber floors and unobstructed views over my terraced gardens with the beach and ocean beyond, all seen through bifold glass doors that I can open onto the terrace and gardens in Summer. It's a lovely, large, light and airy, open space where I can truly get creative - and I can also turn it into a display area when buyers wish to come and choose pieces from my collections! But I think that just being organised is much more important than looking pretty, and I think that applies to every beader as no one wants to be searching for their materials and beads instead of creating! If your beading area is a mess, I highly recommend that you take the time to at least tidy up and organise your space to make your beading time that much more enjoyable, and maybe even going as far as turning it into a beautifully decorated room that's conducive to creating beautiful pieces of art-jewellery - even if you don't have a dedicated beading room it needn't cost a lot to create a dual-purpose room, such a guest-room with a study/beading desk hidden in a built-in robe with shelving above it for your stash - or a TV/gaming room with a big desk area and some cube-shelves with baskets to hide your stash and keep it nicely organised. Mind you, I also keep a lovely antique hand-carved tray on hand so I can always take a project into the living or TV room so I can keep working on it whilst spending time with my hubby - and it's a very organised tray too! Being organised is a pretty important part of being a beader, I think! But however you prefer to be - Happy Beading, everyone!! 🌹🌷❤️🌷🌹

I just had to laugh when you said we should share pictures of our beading areas! Mine looks like a someone dropped a bead bomb! In my own defense, I am moving so stuff is everywhere, but I'm just sure that mine will never be that neat and organized! Hi Stephanie! I enjoyed the look into your studio. It was very nice of you to invite us in. I'm always looking for ideas for beading space and storage. I have carved out an area in my combined living room dining room for my beading area. Maybe I will post pictures of it at some later time. I had a friend saw a book shelf in half for me and I use it as two shelving units. On the top I have space for my laptop (which I watch your videos on when making my projects) and underneath it I have bead storage. I was making your "Loveable Hearts Reversale Charms" when the notification popped up to view your studio. So, of course I stopped beading to watch. Thanks again and maybe some day soon I will show you my work area. I'm wating for another unit from Ikea to arrive. KEEP CREATING AND BEADING!!!!

Thanks Stephanie for the tour! Your room is beautiful! Lucky you have a room :)) I have a suggestion for your wires and cored, you could use paper towel rolls, the actual roll in the middle of the paper towels to run your wires through. You can paint them and decorate them if you wish, and use several in a row if you wish. Or you could find some thicker cardboard type tubes and do the same thing.
Stephanie, thanks for sharing your space. I don't have a beading space yet but it makes me want to clean my office. Perhaps on that space on the wall you could build a shadow box the size of a large print or painting. Put glass in the frame with about two inches from a backing made of cork. Then you could display your creations in an ever changing collage of all your own beautiful works.

You are amazingly organized! I love your videos, you are so elegant in your designs! Everything you create has its seal, one of them being the use of metallic seed bead colors. Even though I recently started beading, I still am in the stage of exploring color, which makes combining to wear more limited. Your workplace is so nice and tidy. Because I have more than one hobby, My workroom is kind of messy. I do patchwork quilting, watercolor painting and now I have added beading, I'll have to re-organize everything.
Wow! I share one room with calligraphy, teaching German, sewing, machine embroidery and watercolor painting. Too much stuff in one room. I would love to have a space this organized. Good job!

Looks great! I love your basket idea, but I worry that the beads will get dusty. I too have cats-three of them, and they love to lounge around wherever I am! I know this looks a bit tacky, but I really like the plastic Sterlite drawers that you can stack. It is great for organizing beads, tools, findings etc. I also have the a couple sets of the plastic drawers you get at home improvement stores which are meant for sorting and storing nuts and bolts. These work great to separate findings.
Thank you! I keep all my beads in plastic bags inside the baskets so no dust!!! It is also is safer for the cats to have beads in bags or boxes as you do! Love the Sterlite drawers for findings - mine are a bit disorganized! Thanks!
Mag lights are everything!! Mine is down atm and I am amazed how hard beading is without it. I've been doing wire until I can get the ballast to replace (regulates bulb). I might check out the lamps you use. Love your workspace. I am one who hates to put a project down in the middle to go find what I need. Every time I mess up, its always because I set my work down and changed focus for a moment. I keep everything around me but I need some better-sized baskets. Love your tripod! Perhaps your husband might hit the thrift store for old lamps and make more? ;) Another great video Stephanie! even if I'm seeing it years later. LOL

Thanks for sharing, Stephanie. Organization is key for beaders. I'm organized as well but I have a ton more beads and love tubes and acrylic boxes for most of my stuff and of course shelving units. I also love geodes and have them on my bead table. Perhaps on that empty wall you could hang some art or put up another shelving unit to store things.

Wow - you actually have a bronze pony! And I love your studio; it's so efficient. If you haven't done anything with your blank wall yet, have you considered a mural? Something involving beads and a bronze pony and a cat in a basket. Or you can buy mural wallpaper. Or a trompe l'oeil depicting your garden. Whatever you do, there's got to be a bronze pony in it! I love your tutorials and I can hardly wait to start the interlace bangle.
I absolutely love your room! It's funny you mention the yoga. For the last 2 days I've had a tension headache from beading (My workspace is my kitchen table lol ) I did yoga last night and thankfully my headache is gone so.....I'm off to bead!! But while laying on a heating pad i still watched your videos. The first piece I had ever made was the Corona ring. And I have finished the interlace bracelet and the shield and heart charm. I am addicted!!

Very nice workspace. I wish I was that organized. It is very wise of you to stand up every so often and work some YOGA. An alarm gets me to stand up every hour and stretch. The alarm is not located in my bead-room and if I don't get up and walk down the hall the alarm will just keep on alarming. I stretch as I walk to the bedroom and then stretch on my way back and I complete a round of breathing exercises to keep the oxygen flowing through every cell of my body. Not Yoga but maybe the second best thing to it. Thank you for the tutorial.

Omg, you would flip out at what a craft hoarder I am. I took over the larger of 2 rooms when my kids moved out I have 3 dinner type tables set up and 6 or 8 cubical set up, 2 wheelie carts, 2 plastic wheelie 3 draw thingies, then, I just picked up 2 small 6 draw (Alex type draws) and 2 sets of medium sz. 6 draw (Alex) with the intention of organizing my beads as the have been all over the place in boxes, chests, jars for years, I also have 2 sm. & 2 med. Table top tool type boxes for findings and such. I have done just about every craft there is, so I've collected ALOT of products over the years. BEADS galore, paper crafting, painting, ceramics, stained glass, sewing, etc etc etc these are just to name a few things. I really need to weed out. I've inherited excess beads etc from 2 beaded friends, 1 was my best friend who passed, and none of her family wanted much of it, they got some of her finished pieces but the REST all came to me, she was the type if she was going to get something it would be at least 2 to 3 of each thing.
Thank you for taking it so SLOW and STEADY for the tour. SO appreciated. I have really crazy stupid vertigo and I actually managed to watch and ENJOY ALL of the tour :) My dream is to one day have a room big enough to have different craft work stations and a big table in the middle for pattern cutting and projects that need a lot of room :)
Stephanie what a lovely beading studio, thanks for sharing it with us! As I'm just a beginner my beading area is where ever I can pull a tray table up to and my tools and beads fit into a purple tackle box! LOL
And I thought I had watched all of your videos 😂! This was fun...to see your space from a different perspective. I love the idea of baskets, too. Thanks for sharing.
YOU are TOO Organized! I would never find anything if it was all put away HaaaaHaaaa! Thanks for your videos I like the way you show and explain at a pace that is easy to learn! At my age I need all the help I can get to learn something new!

A nice art piece painting, sumthing different and wild, K ool, something you want mind looking at on the wall while doing beads... I would also love to see some of your wire work, or even a tutorial wire wrap..

Thank you for sharing your workspace, Stephanie! 💖You actually helped me out by motivating me with other organizing ideas. I've got such a tiny work space, though. 😶😯😕 I guess I'll have to wait until I move into a bigger place or until my daughter is ready to move out sadly. I always find myself rearranging and transferring beads and catagorizing materials to larger containers of tupperware every time I hoard more beautiful beads after a huge purchase exceeding my budget....😒😶

I love it ...I wish I had the room to have a place for all of my beading ... I live on a boat so it is everywhere and I have to find it and remember what I have when I want to bead !!!
