Welcome to Mystara: Restarting the Timeline at 1005 

There needs to be a pdf that's just a summary of this video. Here's what I got: Alfheim-Is not conquered, stands with Darokin, and makes truce with the New Angmar Shadow Elves Alphatia- Doomsday device never goes off, loses badly to Thyatis. Wizard Civil war due to heir conflict. Atrughin- Plateau is joined to Known World via Meteor Impact. Tiger tribe sides with Master, committed atrocities. Broken Lands- Losing massive amounts of ground to New Angmar and other enemies. Thar pillage-retreats to the north. City of Stars- Shadow Elves splinter. King Telemond plots against Alfheim and New Angmar desserters. Darokin- Frontline of the Western Front and is in ruin. Rebuilding, PCs can help and earn noble titles over new fiefs. Ethengar- In 1005, they save the day in battle against the Master. Conquers Wendar, fights epic battle vs. Denagoth. Five Shires- Devastated by war. Redesigning government due to wartime failures. Will return to isolationism soon. Glantri- Suffered major Undead Prince invasion. D'Amberville is missing. Allows some Clerics to enter to fight undead Ierendi- Joined Darokin out of guilt. Sank Master's fleet and ended blockades. Tourism down, harming Ierendi economy. Karameikos- Stephan is king now. von Hendrix is Count but weakened. One of the most powerful nations post-war. Minrothad- Didn't get involved. Sold arms, but in peacetime, everyone turns their back on them. Economy declining. New Angmar-Surface Shadow Elf kingdom. Queen is in awkward spot, paranoid of neighbors actually keeping treaties. Vestland- Joins the Western Alliance. Trying to form trading nation but still tough mercenaries. Solderfjord- Stayed neutral during war. In peacetime, King has to wrangle warring Jarls. Ostland- Sided with Thyatis, but was betrayed at war's end. King in Exile, Queen has to appease occuppying force. Rockhome- Decides to become a force for the trading nations. Builds undergound roads to dwarven trade outposts. Serraine- Joins the Western alliance, but has minimal involvment. Can become travel hub. Thyatis- Wins the war, narrowly. New Emperor throws weight around but lets Karameikos go. (for now) Ylarum- New, friendly, competent Sultan reaches out to the world and aids Darokin in patrolling untamed lands.

What I wouldn't give to have a Welcome to Battletech: Restarting the Timeline at 3067 given this level of thought and detail. This was a masterpiece in respecting a setting while moving events forward. Bravo Mr. Welch, bravo.

Your timeline is much better than the official one. I dare say more grounded in the reality of Mystara. It's like you took Earth's history and applied it with a good Mystara twist!

I have said it before on your videos. I detest the destruction of alphatia and the shadow elves taking over alfheim. Love your videos.

You’ve inspired me to do a campaign set in the future of 1616 Mystara based on some historical events. The tectonic plates shifted where Mystara looks like a cross between a Mystaran map and the Earth map. Thanks

I must be one of the those guys that not only didn’t mind the whole events of Wrath of the Immortals, but I’m currently playing a campaign where all those events are canon. I liked how they Nuked the setting. But that’s because my players and I have been playing the AC timeline forever. So for us, it was a wild change up that really threw the players for a loop. Still liked your version. I’ll probably run yours for my next campaign.

I like the idea of there being an "after the war" that doesn't involve the Immortals blowing holes in continuity. I will have to cherry pick this stuff a bit, because I use the 'Ramelin' version of Mystara in my current campaign, and because...well, the party screwed around off-world a bit and now it's already 1005AC.

If I ever did anything with this timeline I’d throw in some chaotic outsiders and or Nightmare Realm entities trying to worm their way into Mystara. All that bloodshed, pain and destruction would look like an all you can eat buffet for your average fiend or evil aligned deity. One that it might be worth trying to cross the barrier for.

Oh, man, I hadn't realised that War on All Sides was a creation of yours. Everything comes together now :D In the pdf you have Empress Eriadna herself intervene in favour of the Darokinians, but what would you say if instead the Princess Ark arrived?

I kind of think the arcade games, which are set in Darokin and Glantri, got almost everything wrong about those nations, (should've been set in Karameikos or Minrothad or even Alphatia where the genericness is less obvious.) Also, shadow elves are skimpily-clad teleport-spamming purple drow. But, they are some pretty nice Side-scrolling Beat'em ups. The endings are dramatic as all hell and make you feel like you saved the world.

what Rifts book is Mystara? I can't seem to find it in my collection...haha great vid Welch

Hey Glen, just finished watching this video again and I have a couple of questions. First, how do the Shadow elves terraform the Broken Lands? I remember reading that the reason it's such a hellhole was because of a Blackmoor artifact blew up and it was basically a mix of 3 mile island and Chernobyl. Second, wouldn't it be transformed into a giant fungal forest instead of weird purple-blue trees? How would they know what trees were seeing that the vast majority have lived underground for hundreds of years? I'm intrigued by this scenario and I'll probably use it for my next campaign, once I'm finished with my current one. So, any help would be great. Thanks again, and stay out of the rain!

You do of course realize that Porphyriel is the Radiant Shaman, NOT the Radiant Princess. The Radiant Princess, Tanadaleyo, is Telemon's daughter not Porphyriel.

I'm looking at the map and I'm wondering why Wendar, why isn't Ethengar going after the Heldann Freeholds? The Mongols rolled over the Teutonic Knights, why would Ethengar go through a mountain pass, when there is literally NOTHING stopping them from overrunning the Hattian controlled Heldann.

Could you help me out with the different languages (ancient and modern) from all of the nations.

Specifically, the invasion and occupation of Ostland by Thyatis. so how does the doomsday device get stopped? I just read WotI and no matter what the players do (destroy, modify, or do nothing to the device) it makes no difference and Alphatia gets destroyed and magic is gone for a week... What do you suggest a time travelling party does to stop Rad from being a dumbass, since it doesnt seem like he's willing to listen to reason?

I would not have given the shadow elves a forest.
