Welcome to Ten Mile Creek in Clarksburg, MD, where cool, clear water flows to Little Seneca Lake, the backup drinking water reservoir for 4.3 million people in the Washington, DC, region. Plans to develop the watershed for housing and an outlet mall now threaten to degrade the creek and the reservoir. Follow the stream from its headwaters to the lake, as it winds past a crayfish, cows, horses, a family of deer, and a chorus of songbirds and tree frogs. At the lake, in Black Hill Regional Park, you will be greeted by butterflies sipping nectar, evidence of beaver, and Canada geese. It's up to you to save this last healthy creek in Montgomery County and our drinking water supply!
