I'm a male anime fan and also a huge history geek so Hetalia is right up my alley. The manga and the anime are absolutely hilarious so I'm not surprised the fandom blew up. Glad I joined when everyone calmed down lol. And yeah, the Steven Universe fandom is awful. The fact that they went on a witch hunt and almost made a girl kill herself was awful. Also, Hungary and Seychelles are god tier best girls.

People really need to learn that Hetalia is supposed to be a humorous joke about history in a lighthearted way.

I was all into Hetalia in the Golden ages when I was like 13. Then I eased off for a while. Learned more properly what sex and gay sex involved. Thus, with this new knowledge, I have returned more Doitsu-fied than ever.

Another little piece of advice for newbie Hetalia fans: There are NO canon names for the Nyos. I roleplay as Fem Prussia and I call her "Gilly", I have received several messages telling (and sometimes yelling at) me that I'm using the wrong name. If you're new to the fandom or the Nyos, it's fine. Just don't harass people for giving them different names.

im a new hetalian (a fellow america stan and a gerita stan btw ;) and it irritates me as a huge history nerd how some hetalians dont know anything about history besides knowing of hetalia. something else is how even though hetalia is a huge joke and based of satire and stereotypes based of history... when fangirls take those stereotypes too seriously and start being straight up racist towards others in the fandom just in the name of dark humor its sucks for us pocs who are just trying to enjoy saire within the show and the characters. besides that i love it.

Why do I watch Hetalia? For me to get to know other country's history. If it wasn't for Hetalia I would never have thought of researching the spice trade in depth, and study the British Empire at school, so thank you Himaruya. It also motivated me to learn German since most of my favourite characters (non-hetalian included) speaks German and I am now more politicaly aware about my country's international relations with other countries (Anglo-Japanese anyone?) All I want to say is that so far, the Hetalians I have met have been history nerds who sometimes take a reference of Hetalia during our deep Historical debate. Sure there are people just fantasising over these boys, but I just want to make a shout out to those who make an incredible FanFiction, mep, and fancomics to make the Hetalians more aware of our international situations, and possibly think strongly about world peace
