I don’t think the story Cate told about Rufus was a lie, because he did the same thing to Marie.

That scene of Sam imagining the guards as puppets was hilarious, and pretty well done considering how gory it would’ve actually been if they didn’t go that approach. But on another note relating to that scene, I find it kind of ridiculous how they would send ordinary humans with guns to go capture a mentally disturbed Supe with bulletproof durability and super strength. I wonder why they never give the troopers Compound V for these kind of situations.

I just realize that Luke envisioned his brother as a young child even though three years ago he saw him as a young adult or a teenager in the facility. Which means he has been manipulated having memories erased and also implanted at the same time. Cate is the reason for his psychotic break

The rufy mind manipulation ability guy isn’t based on touch it’s within a certain range. As for Sam saying “don’t touch me to cate” it wasn’t about memory wiping, it was about putting him to sleep like they should during ep 2 (I think) so he didn’t want to get stopped when he was trying to kill the doctor guy. Cate only mind wiped mostly Luke to make him stop going after Sam or else she would have made Sam forget him too at the point. But he remembers Luke

luke and cate visited sam when he was in the sage grove center featured in season 2 of the boys. lamplighter worked there. it is implied that luke was told sam killed himself after the incident with the guard but this was a cover for moving sam to the woods under the school

I think Rufus' power is literally that he puts people into a fugue state. Like, if he were teleporting people, then the people around those he supposedly 'teleported' would be reacting more noticeably, would be way more confused. But instead, at the fast food counter, everybody just looks mildly concerned or perturbed. Not to mention that time clearly passes, but when they come to they sometimes come to standing up, or walking or running. It's much harder for that to be possible if he's just instantly teleporting people. So I think he puts them into a fugue state that can last anywhere from minutes to hours, where they're functioning and interacting with the world around them, but might be acting "off" or like they're on autopilot. Some people in fugue states set off no red flags at all to the people around them, unlike I feel teleportation would. I think it's *like* hypnosis, but *much* stronger and less straightforward.

I really feel for Andre's character. Cate's manipulation is just heartbreakingly cold throughout for example: after mind wiping the party she would have to lay in his arms and sleep. Then, eventhough Andre displays clear awareness that Luke is dead and missed, the fact that Luke told him he loved him beforehand is one of the memories stolen and returned

Rufus can teleport people and not wipe their memories. Andre remembered how he got to Vought o Burger. I don't think Rufus can wipe memories. I think he just makes people disoriented and unconscious. We know Rufus also has mind reading and clairvoyance. Cate can wipe memories, even something as little as a few details to making you forget a whole day. Then obviously she can make you do anything she asks and make you feel what she says you should.
