Day 1. Was nice to hear that you have been getting a lot of use out of older iPads. I’m still using the 2017 iPad Pro. I’ve had it since late 2017 and I can’t complain too much. I am just now starting to notice things I’d like to learn, that this iPad just will not run. Thankfully, Procreate works well on this still, so I should be good for a while longer.
Thanks James and Joel. Great start and cant wait to watch the rest. I am old enough to remember when you bought a software and you could use it forever for one price. The subscription model was a terrible direction to go for many softwares. I would be very sad if Procreate went subscription. Also Day 1 🙂

Day 1-- Loved listening in on this dynamic conversation. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't have a screen protector on my Ipad but I love the silky smooth movement of my Apple pencil. I've drawn all my life on paper so this is like painting with ink, even better, free-er.

Great video. Looking forward to lots more. I've had the iPad Air 13 for 3 days and it just feels great. Like my 2020 Pro but a lot faster and the screen is amazing. And I love the Pro Pencil. At least I now know when I've double clicked it.

I watched part day 1 then finished the last 10 min today…so day 1 & half. The show seems interesting. Looking forward to the series! If Procreate went subscription, I think I’d leave. Their one-time purchase was the main reason I went with them. I get really tired of subscriptions.

Catching up on your videos. Great seeing you both together. You both are my go-to artists and have been since I started this journey 7 months ago. And both my only Patreon artists. Apple really did it this time. In order to get 16gb ram or the special screen you need to jump up to a huge price point. And the Apple Pencil Pro not being backwards compatible. I believe Procreate and Dreams is up to $19.99 US. I've had it for years but never used it and I believe mine was $4.99 US. On your comments about subscription for Procreate I too hope that they never do. I would guess your user base would diminish considerably and think of all the third party brushes and textures etc. They would also lose on that deal. I did upgrade to the 13 8gb with the Pencil from my Gen3 12.9. I started to see a real drop in battery life and I use it as a professional musician. I probably have 800 pounds of music loaded in ForScore haha. And the iPad doesn't get any heavier! I couldn't afford to have the battery drain when I am performing. Also I believe I read that the nano-textured iPad isn't simulating the texture you get from a screen addition like Rock Paper Pencil (my fav). I do want to say that since my new journey in the world of art I walk and drive around seeing the world in 3D which I never did before. And I love saying "I can paint that!" - thanks to both of you! Last night driving home from a concert in Louisville, KY the cloud formations were unreal. From stormy to puffy and incredible contrast and depth. I'm excited to work on replicating that. James, I also record with my phone and I'm a bit nervous about how the recording will go on the OLED. I'm hearing there will be some striping. Lisa Bardot uses an iPhone app called Black Magic where you can alter the frame rate, shutter speed, and such which is apparently what needs to happen to prevent the zebra stripes. Would love to hear how that goes for you. I'm on the fence about the new iPad :)

As a retired web designer who’s learning Procreate, I’d like to learn Procreate’s plans such as search and brush organization plus better import features. Thanks for doing this
Amazing changes. Bought the iMac 156k. Oh I wish I could afford the new iPad Pro (or any iPad Pro). That’s the only issue I have with being an Apple Evangelist, the high costs. I even used a Lisa in 1982.
