Thank you Curt for the close up of flowers as you’re heading up from the small gift shop/Refugio to meet Snow. The pink/white flower was a Bladder Campion ( Silene vulgaris ) next to white daisy flowers.

I just cannot fathom why anyone would to do this type of stuff. My heart was in my mouth watching it all- it was as bad as the tunnels in the Dolomites! But have to hand it to Curt for his stoic efforts!

I was holding my breath watching Curt navigate that trail. It became serious, it seemed, out of nowhere, but it's the ALPS. What beauty. Those coral colored wildflowers, along Curts hike were just beautiful. It would seem like one could be served a hot chocolate that wasn't in powder form. I wanted Snow to have the real deal. Chickens, rabbits and cows up there. Ppl actually live and thrive in those mountains. Really lovely. Soo happy there was cell service so Curt could tell you what his situation was. Well, you guys. Curt you are like a mountain goat with all the Trails you take to go where you want. But it was just absolutely beautiful. Snow the gondola view was just beautiful I really love that we have a gondola that goes up to the Sandy mountains here in albuquerque. My house is at 5,900 ft above sea level. But our climate is very dry and the humidity today is only 10 what a beautiful trip this has been today.

WOW, just wow. It's almost 50 years since I was in Swizerland last and it hasn't really changed, and now of course, I wouldn't be able to do these walks anymore (not wheelchair friendly :D ) so I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the vicarious thrills (and chills Curt...you sure do give me some close moments on these mountain walks). I admit I miss your travels around South America, but Europe isn't bad. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Cuddles to your fur babies. ❤🇦🇺

Although Switzerland was neutral during the war, they still had to defend themselves, they built tunnels especially in the mountains, they have gun turrets everywhere in fake rocks. Bunkers painted to look like chateaux. So interesting

It wasn't that difficult because it was down most of the way and I am a natural downhiller😂but it was much farther and took much longer than I expected. And by the time I got down to the lake it started to rain, otherwise we would have had some epic drone footage from the valley. My two hardest hikes were Volcano Acatenago and Fuego in Guatemala and Pedra de Gavea in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Always happy to have you along on the journey.🍻☮🙏❤
