Nice job on the welding. Cast can be a pain. I have watched Larger farms with this newer equipment, Paying through the nose for all the Computer crap when it fails. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.

Well when your little machine shop is all set up you could mill a new one from a chunk of steel

@@garyjohnson4458 that is definitely an option to just build one from scratch. I have used the swather since that weld job and it seems to be working fine for now

You might want to check with Walt's tractor parts in Missouri. They might have the parts you need. Brazing could have worked in this instance. There is a process known as "ferritizing anneal". The part will need to be heated to 1300-1400F. Allow one hour per inch of section for heating and hold at temperature for one hour. Slow cool, either with insulating media or ramping down the furnace in a controlled manner. The nickel weld metal will not be affected; it is just along for the ride.
