@@benthompson3732 what u suggest? mig? tig? they only have stick welding, and tack welding is fine in these situation they are probably welding a table frame or mini gate. Most likely theyll never even get a chance to weld a gas pipe in their lifetime. so these welds are just fine,

If having trouble with the parent metal being burned thru even on low amps, use a back-up plate behind the gap, and weld all 3 pieces together.
