New weavers are really lucky to have all the current video support. As a weaver of 40 plus years I am enjoying the new or beginner eyes that these videos offer.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you, but wish the music wasn't there it was very distracting. You don't need it, you're so interesting to listen to! I was pleased when it stopped. Looking forward to seeing you more
Thank you so much for your content regarding weaving. I've been weaving since 2005 and although I also sew, quilt, spin and knit, I think weaving is my first love. It's such a challenge, with little twists and turns and complexities that I don't find in other crafts. I completely understand why you've fallen into the rabbit hole - I've followed you since your start podcasting, and I find that you have such an inquiring mind. Keep it up!
Shelley -- you are so welcome. I totally agree with you. Felicia has started vlogging her experiences too, if you're looking for more conversation -- lomeetsloom.com -- thank you again Shelley!!
Thank you Rachel, I’ve taken time away from my loom over the last couple of years but this year feel drawn to getting back and weaving my own fabric again. Your video was just what I needed to help me feel even more inspired.
Love welfordWEAVES!. Your excitement of weaving is very inspiring. Bought a loom last year but find the whole process challenging as I am a "product" person not a "process" person. Plus it is just hard on my hands. . Your experiences will open up a new thought process for me. Thanks Rachel.
Wonderful Marilyn! I'm glad to be helpful and I think the product and process conversation has a lot to do with our expectations and time constraints and pressures -- we want to 'show' something for the time we spend at our wheels, looms, on needles ... it's a constant struggle for everyone (even if they deny it) :) I hope to continue that conversation -- thank you!
I love that you talk about the musicality coming through. I played piano for years and have always said that weaving feels so similar to the piano. Sitting at a loom for the first time felt like I had been doing so for my whole life and the rhythm of throwing the shuttle and treadling is just so familiar.
Yay! Thank you Rachel! I really enjoyed and appreciated your more in depth explanation of twill. Super fun to see your excitement about weaving in this new format! I hope you decide to continue with more along the same lines!
That was really great. I can see why weaving has such appeal - there is very much to learn!! Thanks for demystifying some of it and sharing your learning experience with it. I learned a lot today.
I enjoyed watching as well as listening to your twill explanations. It made a complex subject almost relaxing and lyrical. Thank you. Hopefully I will get to that point in my weaving some day. Sort of like twill with a trill gives a thrill……
@@RachelSmith I bought a floor loom 2 years ago it was almost free but have tucked it away because of house Kaos started spinning but now looking to play with it your vlog made so much sense I did understand so much
