Hello Jared, I had a dog similar to Baxter, which I accidentally landed on her as I jumped over a porch railing when she went under the railing. Long story short, it crippled her. Fortunately, my dad was a chiropractor and was able to work on her, and she was able to walk again within a very short time. It may be an option for Baxter if you happen to have a K9 chiropractor in your area. All the best to your family and Baxter. Prayers for a favorable outcome. God bless you all!

Your garden looks amazing! My husband had huge blisters on one leg and foot (complication of heart attack and surgery). The doctors had us slither Vaseline on blisters,about 1/4 in thick. Then wrap in gauge and change ever 24 hours. His leg was serious and that Vaseline was a miracle. You may have already tried that, but I thought I'd mention it. I hope you get better real soon. If laser doesn't work then try acupuncture! My baby had no control over her backend and within 3 treatments she started improving...now 17 years old and walking great for the last ten years! My cousin had the same results with her dog!

Aww sweet Baxter, maybe you could get a doggie stroller so you dont have to carry him & he can sit & watch you wherever you are. Nothing will mess with him or wont accidently get trampled. Back in the 70s, my cousin from Houston had a little Baxter that looked near identical to your Baxter. 😊

Another vote for the tomato cage for the peppers. Is there some other kind of padding you can use for your knee when you're trying to do heavy stuff? I hope it heals up quickly for you so you feel better soon.

we've always used tomatoe cages for our tomatoes and pepper plants for when they get big n heavy ,really helps them stand up better.

Love your garden. Dogs are fun to watch. I’m not sure if this would work for you, but when my peppers do that, I use a heavy duty tomato cage. Works great. I tie the branches to it with some ripped stripes I make from old towels. Lll. Sorry about your leg. It’s hard to sleep to heal your body when it hurts.

Put a tomato cage on it. Suggestion next year when you plant ,when the plants start coming up add more dirt around them and keep doing it till you have a good strong plant above ground. You can do the same with tomatoes and potatoes.

Yard, garden, little house, chickens, goats, dogs, everything is looking great! On the pepper plant, if you can get another tomato cage, that will probably work to support it. Also, have you considered getting a silicone pad to help with your knee? I saw them online. Might look like a silicone implant lol but could help! Hope you get to feeling better and get back to doing what you like to do. Good luck getting the tent into your bedroom!

The OSB that you have installed on the wall is on backwards. The rough side with the paint lines faces outwards. The lines are there for a nail guide for stud location. I’m glad to see you are using plywood for the roof!

Loved the camera shots at the start Jared, different than usual, was great. Careful you don't put too much soil around the base of the plants now they are producing as it could rot the stems, just use a stake and cord to keep them up. Baxter is looking good, hope he's improving ❤ thanks for sharing

for your dog..put cold and hot compress on the area he is hurting...also make the food -natural..no kibble to help reduce inflamation...there are a lot of home made recipes to make dog food. It makes a huge difference...

We always put tomato cages on our pepper plants, as they a lays got to big. The cages really help.

Jared take it easy on your leg. Love on Baxter for us. Work on your house at YOUR pace. Who cares how long it takes. It’s yours!!! AND having a prosthetic leg doesn’t help when you have to go up and down a ladder. My husband used Desitin on his stump due to swerving so much. It stayed dryer that way and he didn’t get sores either. Oh and your garden looks great!!

Could you use tomato cages around the pepper plants to support the plants. Decades ago when I had a big garden I had some that lasted for years. Before I had cages I'd put stakes deep in the ground at end of rows and run strings and tie the plants to the strings with cut up panty hose ties, that was a cheap disposable fix. I miss gardening.

I don't know if this will work for you but what I do instead of staking is tie thick string around the stem of the plant and attach the other end of the string to an eye hook in area above. I wrap the string around the stem of the plant or wrap the plant around the string whichever works best.

I use small tomato cages or I buy the square tomato cage and open it up so its straight instead of square and then I can put plants on both sides of that. To support my plants I go to the fabric store and by tulle(pronounced tool)or netting by the yard and cut it into strips. Its soft so it doesn't tear my plants up and I get lots of strips because its wide. 1 yard will make a lot of strips.
