the amount of F Zero love the internet is expressing right now is absolutely outstanding. Nintendo really knocked it out of the park. What a resurgence
Can confirm. Normally I'd have my Firefox closed during recording to avoid any discord or notification blips, but it's slipped my mind on this particular one mainly cause I was so eager to make said video
I wonder if Nintendo has a patent on the "life as boost" mechanic because it seems like every F-Zero-like strips that mechanic despite the risk-reward of that mechanic being the single best thing about F-Zero.
I they did do that, it's almost time for that patent to expire if not already. You can only hold ownership of an idea for so long. Also, there are other ways to create a risk vs reward than just having the health and boost together. This game is gonna be using heat and cold in order to damage your ship which I think is an AMAZING idea.
If patents in the USA last 20 years and that mechanic was introduced in f zero x that was released in 1998 it would already be free to use (and if it was based on f zero gx for some reason it would already be free to use)
BallisticNG and even wip3out from 1999 are a couple other AG racers with that feature, so I highly doubt they have a patent on the mechanic. It could also be possible the devs simply want to avoid copying the mechanics 1:1 to avoid a C&D as well, but that sounds like even more of a stretch.
I don't think i could play this game. There's some kind of motion sickness too fast too furious going on here. Most of the wipeout games have this problem too. Yet F-zero never did*, which is honestly an interesting aspect to the subtitles of it's game design. *(Technically SEGA's F-Zero game on Gamecube had some minor to major issues on certain courses, one in the Queen Cup and two in the King Cup. But they never went overboard like this game footage shown.
The sense of speed looks amazing, but the cpu is way to aggressive, that is annoying, also i hope the other tracks are not full of endless pits or the side defense turned off that you can fall and die. I hate that of the gamecube f-zero.
If you don't like those guardless rails, then I'd say that F Zero is probably not your game and this game is HEAVILY inspired by F Zero GX. I would recommend Burnout 3, that's a FANTASTIC fast paced game that really gives you the sense of going at ridiculous speeds and has guardrails.
@@kukukachu I have seem that game but i find normal cars boring, i played f zero gx and i enjoyed the cups where the tracks were normal, not in a masochistic level such as sapphire, emerald and diamond cups (my favorite cup is the AX cup and some tracks of the ruby cup)
Well this will change over time, but have you played the XF demo yet? Most of the tracks have rails, but some don't. I do believe the real game will get a lot harder, but the DEMO is a BANGER!@@Raylightsen
@@christhepocketmasterrboth stand on their merits and, while I say they can stand beside each other, neither Nintendo nor Sony want to do anything with their fan favourite racing games, which is sad
