As always Avery good video. I am 78 and have between 6.months & year of my life due to cancer, I have no regrets and counting my self lucky as I have always done dangerous work and have 3 comondatinons for bravery.i am hoping to to get out myself and try my hand, my boar is only a sib but should do the job .I still need a reasonable rod & reel, nothing fancy as.l only have my staght pension, so will have to be quick before you know who takes half of it back. On a personal note you two make a lovely couple, and if you are you have my fondest wishes. Bless you both and keep up with fishing & video I will 🦞♥️💐

That was so exciting! So many big fish (for their type) AND a cod! I do hope you two are eating that one! The crayfish were decent, too. I'd call that a successful day! Thanks for taking us with you! xx

In the deeps here and there but cod are rare here. We will fish further out but we need the weather and right tides to be able to fish far out.

Another enjoyable and successful session. What would add to the interest is a camera shot of what's showing up on your sounder/fish finder screen. I don't know if this would giveaway your location which you might not want to reveal.
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 26 дней назад
When we are out there in the deeper water it does not really show much at all. I am using a GPS and the way the tides flow to locate fishing areas.
@DeLarssons

It would be very nice to see whist fishes are down there :) do you have a water wolf camera?
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 24 дня назад
I can put most of my cameras underwater but usually only to about 30 meters This area is almost double that plus you would need lights down there. However I have been filming underwater this summer in shallower water. This will all be coming at a later date as a lot of work and time is involved in making those videos.

Horse mackerel are not real mackerel at all, belonging to a family of fish called carangidae made up of jacks and trevallies. They form large shoals over sandy bottomed ground, often schooling with herring or (actual) mackerel. There are two main stocks of Atlantic horse mackerel.

Cut it out you guys! I am an 81 yr old NZer and my father told me when I was young that the coastline around Britain was barren, with no fish. Was he wrong, or have things improved? Cheers, Art
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 25 дней назад
I think some areas are better than others. Depends on the laws in those areas. For instance we don't have the very large trawlers or factory ships here and pair trawling is banned within so many miles from shore, Also we have restrictions on nets. All these rules can make a difference.

Do you have any wrecks to fish over ? There positions can be jealously guarded by other anglers as we found out by going on many deep sea fishing trips.
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 26 дней назад
There is not much left of the wrecks these days need some new ones
@Yemmr-o4d

Did you eat the cod? I get pollock and few other fish from a mate. I find the pollock much tastier than a piece of cod I can get from Morrisons. If I go to a decent chip shop first choice be hake then haddock and lastly cod. Any flat fish beats them all.
@Yemmr-o4d
@Yemmr-o4d 26 дней назад
Mind you I do like a piece of dog fish lovely in curries
@Trojwaterman

Yes we did. I always preferred pollock but its nice to have a change as its rare to see cod here these days.

Can you target Turbot Troj?
@Trojwaterman
@Trojwaterman 26 дней назад
Maybe sometime but its a lot of rough ground where I fish now. When I fished from my fathers boat out of the main harbour we used to fish a lot for turbot and brill on the sandbanks.
