Wellbutrin (Bupropion) 2 Month Update 

Wellbutrin is amazing the only side effect was weight-loss I went from 217 to 184 in a couple of months without changing my -eating habits. Made me see clearer and more focused while driving. I totally stopped overthinking about everything. Freedom really. no negative side effects.

I have been on 300mg for 3 months and I have lost 40lbs . And it helps with my depression and dont feel sad all the time

I’m on it right now, I take it twice a day and I’m finally feeling productive, no intrusive thoughts and I have the energy to clean and take care of myself. It really is a life changer!

For people worried abt starting it: just a reminder that this is the easiest anti-depressant on the market basically in terms of side effects and addictiveness. If you don’t like it, it’s pretty easy to switch to a different type of medication, and it’s also easy to switch dosage. Out of all the antidepressants on the market, this one has one of the least amount of side effects, and is the only one that is known for weight loss! It’s also not a dopamine blocker like SSRI antidepressants, which means that it’s also beneficial for people with ADHD or people who struggle with concentration. Be honest with your doctor and be self aware and you should be completely fine!

A few years ago I started taking this medication for depression and ended up losing close to 100lbs. This medication made me feel normal again with more energy and I was slimming down it was so great. I just started it again for my depression but I'm looking forward to that side effect. Lol

I started Wellbutrin 150 XL nine days ago and felt refreshed for the first time in years. I don't think about many bad things I have been going through as much !!

My dad passed away almost a month before and I am finding it extremely difficult to focus in my doctoral program. I just started the med today and I was in a huge dilemma- m glad m listening to u - making me feel so positive in the way u r describing it. I started on Thursday. Legit felt so depressed and anxious just going into the doctors office and was crying while there. Since I’ve taken it my mood instantly change, I haven’t felt sad and I stopped overthinking so much stuff and stuff that normally makes me anxious doesn’t anymore because I’m able to process things rationally so much better. My only side affect is that my mouth is so dry but it helps me drink more water lol

I feel that since I'm taking welbutrion I feel that it has helped me so much every day I take my medince take my dogs out and have coffee and I have taken the welbutrion and within a hour I would feel so much better and I have anxitey disorder and major depressive disorder I feel so much better and happier than I use to be

In addition to fixing the depression it does help with anxiety. And happiness is not just getting really giddy & excited, it's more of a calm contentment. If you can still smile & laugh then you are fine. I'm just so happy my depression is gone with no side effects on bupropion. Sounds like it did that for you too!👍

The anger part is spot on!! I usually get so mad about certain things, but since starting Wellbutrin I feel more chill. I don't know if it's a bad or a good thing lol, because like you said, I don't want people walking all over me.

Hello, me too!!! W for welbutrin! In one month I cut down from a pack a day to one a day (just because I’m being stubborn and like sitting outside with one) and have so much mental clarity. Stopped biting my nails after 20 years. Have lost almost 10 pounds. No more binge eating. Additional bonuses are the general way I want to actually take care of myself. Seeing a dentist and excited to brush and floss. Extensive skin care routine to combat the years of smoke damage with the money I save not buying cigs. If you’re hesitant: know that you’ll never know if it works for you unless you try, and in my case, it’s a literal life changer. I went on Wellbutrin about a year ago for 3 months and it really changed my life and help me pull myself together, I stopped taking it but I noticed in the last 2-3 months with no work due to COVID-19 I really have fallen in a slump, and for some reason I am nervous to take it again. I guess part of me thinks the first time was a fluke but I am going to give it another shot. The only negative side effect I’ve dealt with is nausea. But usually as long as I have something in my stomach I’m alright

Army vet here. I’m also an EMT. This is my second day on this medication. I’ve always followed these careers to find some sort of excitement. Living day to day with feeling no emotions is rough. I eventually turned to alcohol. I realized there was a problem so I changed to a UofM doctor. I’m so happy to have a doctor that I feel cares about me. I already feel a difference but I’m not going to jump ahead of myself. Some of the things I live with on a daily basis: no emotion, smoking, drinking, PTSD (Not from war). Wish me luck!

I’m so glad I found your video. I went back on Wellbutrin a month ago, after being off for 7 years. Luckily Wellbutrin somehow seems to work even better now, at 31. I’ve never heard anyone mention the ANGER before, thank you, that’s a huge thing for me. You’re explaining everything so well, the way I couldn’t word it to my psych. Also I’ve noticed that my skin is better and sleep is better from less stress too! (And not being able to drink Diet Coke all day anymore lol.)

I am glad to read some positive reviews about wellbutrin after reading alot of negative ones. It didn't really help with my depression at first until my doctor upped my dose to 300mg. daily. I don't feel so hopeless and sad anymore now. It's helping me, anyway. I'm on buspar, also, for anxiety and feel calm now and can sit for long periods of time now. It is possible that wellbutrin is helping me with my anxiety, also, like the woman in the video said. I wish everybody reading this luck, who struggles with depression and/or anxiety. Just know there are tons of different meds out there now for both conditions and don't give up. You will find the right ones for yourself.

I got postpartum depression… My partner and I separated because of it… I had to start all over again with two kiddos, my baby girl and all this depresión. I work full time, and I’m doing online school… In my free time I just want to be in bed watching tv, I don’t want to clean, shower, I over eat. Girl , I felt you when you started talking about the crying when you see certain videos or hear songs . I do the same thing. But yet my doctor says I don’t have depression. She thinks I’m bored because of everything that has changed in my life sense Covid .

This medicine really restores the painful lacking in our brains who lack dopamine for multiple reasons causing severe painful, crippling depression! IT REALLY DOES SAVE UR LIFE. The pain is holding everything back. When it fades, everything is here again! :)

I started taking this a few months ago. Not fully sure how I feel about it. I just get so depressed about my life, and society in general, that without these prescriptions, I do not know how I can cope with the horrible conditions that most people find them selves in. I pray for Jesus to come, and fix everything that is out of order. 💓

On day 6, no changes yet except slight headache. I start taking two pills tomorrow.

I started a week ago. And I see a difference in my mood. I get up and have a more proactive day. My family literally are a bit surprised that all of the sudden I’m getting up and talking to them and making eye contact and cleaning the house. Before this. I barely make eye contact with people and stutter sometimes. And I try to avoid them even my family. So yes they are surprised . I’m taking 300 ml. I do get a little bit hungry when I take it. However I know I’ve lost a few pounds in a week. .

Starting to take 300mg of Wellbutrin tomorrow to help with depressive symptoms. My specialist said it's a good drug for energy stimulation and that's something I struggle with. I have Bipolar type 2 which means I mostly stay on the depressive side but have weeks where I'll feel a little elevated and high performing. I'm really hoping this works in conjunction with my other medication! Thanks for this video.

Please do your research before starting this medication. I started Wellbutrin and 3 months later I started shedding hair. I stopped it in December and now it is May and I am still losing handfuls of hair. I have lost well over 50% of my hair so far. My dermatologist diagnosed it as Telegen Effluvium due to the medication. There are so many articles online about the correlation between this hair condition and Buproprion(Wellbutrin).

I’ve started feeling more depressed on it even suicidal thoughts now which I haven’t had in years and sense I got on this medication they have came back which is strange because I’ve only been on it for about two weeks and they told me it wouldn’t work four three to four weeks so I almost want to quit taking it but another part of me thinks I should still take it till it’s been over a month

How does Wellbutrin feel compared to adderall/stimulants? I have ADD and anxiety/depression, and have been on stimulants for a decade…. Now, the side effects of adderrall-horrible anxiety, overactive CNS, etc- have gotten really bad for me for some reason, and I am trying to stop adderall. Adderall has become way too intense for me even at a low dose, and is wreaking havoc on my body and causing really bad anxiety every day. My doc suggested trying Wellbutrin. I am concerned that it will feel just like adderall, with all the similar side effects I am trying to get away from. Can someone advise me on this? Does Wellbutrin feel at all similar to adderall in this regard? I don’t want another med that causes increased anxiety.

I started taking it three weeks ago, I take 150 two times a day, I have been experiencing alot of the side effects but I'm continuing to use it because I've heard good stories of people just being patient and it worked. I just started Wellbutrin I’m at 75mg so far I feel really good. I feel more focused and more motivated. I do however still feel anxious.

I’m just starting week two….I feel AMAZING! I feel focused and “well” …I haven’t had a single hopeless feeling since I started it! My appetite is virtually zero. And when I DO eat…I eat a super small portion and sweets sound disgusting to me. Yesterday I was craving carrots, cucumbers and avocados. 😂 weird I know. I started back on the treadmill…I have MOTIVATION again. I am WANTING to do things. Leave my house..talk to people..hardly anyone irritates Me anymore. (Which is huge for me) I am doing my hobbies again and looking forward to exercising. I’ve only had a few negative side effects…one day on day four I drank a Starbucks chai tea. Ooops. Apparently lotsa caffeine. I felt EXTRA talkative and “RET TO GO”😂😂 …then my heart started racing and I felt anxiety coming on…so I took 1/2 of my prescribed diazepam. (Also…I had not eaten much that day) so I think that made it worse. But I was fine after 5 milligrams of Valium. One day (day three) I had a slight headache…but that could have been menstrual …and it only lasted like an hour…a few ibuprofen and I was fine. I’ve had maybe two nights where I had trouble falling asleep… But was only up about an hour and a half to two hours after I lay down in the bed… I’m trying not to take my melatonin with it just so I can get good natural sleep… Other than a little bit of racing heart here and there those were the only negative side effects and as far as taking it at the same time every day I took it between 9 AM and 11:30 AM… But since I have so much energy and I am doing so much stuff during the day I tend to peter out around 10 PM and really just want to lay down and fall asleep and I do! *Im not counting the no appetites a negative because I was wanting to lose 10 pounds anyway! 😊 I hope my input helps someone!

A symptom of depression is feeling emotion much more strongly, higher highs and lower lows. You still feel happy, it's just your emotions aren't as extreme, it's more like most people.

You and I are somewhat alike in the issues we had. They just prescribed me Wellbutrin, I start it tomorrow, wish me luck.

I was not diagnosed but I did an online video call with a psychiatrist because of the coronavirus lol and he prescribed wellbutrin for me because I told him about adhd and depression symptoms as well so I'm nervous I'm supposed to talk 100 mg a day now!
