Wellbutrin changed my life! It’s not the med for ppl who suffer from anxiety since it works on norepinephrine, as well as dopamine. I had a little anxiety the first few weeks but it subsided. It gave me my motivation back and turned me back into a fully functional human being. Blessings to you. ❤️
@@beccathering7035 for me it changed from "im so pumped" (that lasted for 3 days) to "ok, im really motivated lets achieve my goals NOW" which exceeded my expectations
I had depression because of untreated ADHD and, well untreated ADHD. Wellbutrin has been a life changing miracle for me from a few hours after taking it the first day.
I feel like emotional numbness is going when you’re always down. Wellbutrin balanced me out soo I wasn’t always snapping at everyone over little things. I am happier if anything, nicer and not as anxious.
Once the snaping person has had someone put them in there place. They think twice about snapping said thing is most these snapping people never met a bigger bully
This Sunday will be 3 weeks on Wellbutrin. I love it. I do have a lil insomnia. But when I go back to sleep it is a deep sleep. So I’m okay. I also feel more happy and lovable. I can finally relax. Before I felt like I had to stay busy at all times! I’m okay thank god.
why are you thanking god, if a god was to protect aubrey you wouldn't be plagued with mental illness. god is to promote obiedence and conformity to the simple minded. if you have insomnia, there is over the counter melotonin or better yet seroquel from your doctor.
Paperclown I thanked Gos because I’m feeling much better. Now you need to shut the fuck up! Wtf are you doing on her you fucking creep if you’re talking badly about God in any way. Your weird dumbass. Now go comment someone’ else’s shit!
You uploaded this at the perfect time for me, I found you through the first two videos. I am starting this medication in a few days to help with adhd and depression and your videos have made me very hopeful while also keeping more realistic expectations. I’m not expecting life to be rainbows and unicorns but I think I just need a little push to start developing better habits for myself. Thank you so much for these videos and I’m so glad to see youre doing better.
I start tomorrow and am here for the same reason. I hope it's going well for you. If you're still looking for a good source of tips and adhd habits, Gina Pera and Dr Russell Barkley have lectures on youtube that have helped me a ton.
@@elaynarice7389 but Bupropion is supposed to lose weight.. she gained a lot! I've been on lithium the last month and dehydration is a big issue, i do a lot of walking and noticed my skin is getting pretty flabby from the fat and water sweating out.
Brittany Braden honestly yes, I feel so much more clear headed like I can actually be myself without as much worry if that makes sense? I never got any bad side effects other than some loss of appetite the first month. Also they upped me to 300mg because 150 wasn’t really enough. Now, I’m not sleeping/ tired all day and I actually want to do things lol. I hope it works out for you! Just work hard to stay hydrated like everyone says lol
All I know is that since ive been taking this for 10 months, I tend to get out of bed faster and without dread, and have stopped sleeping in the fetal position so much. So, it works.
This has helped me so much. I’m still quite new to it, it’s been only 2 weeks or so. I feel more focused and I have enough energy to get everything done during the day. Before I’d get off work and I was to fatigue to do anything else and I’d end up napping. I’m also in college and it has helped me focus on my homework. I have not felt the “less hunger” aspect but again I’m only two weeks in. I still have the same appetite. Cons- I have ringing in my ears, it’s something I’ve learned to live with. It’s not as bad as feeling like a lethargic gold fish, which was my way of life prior to this medicine. Also it has affected my sleep but I have sleeping meds. And lastly, it has made my hands jittery and shaky at times. I don’t remember this being an issue prior to the meds. But I’d 100% choose these side effects over being depressed, anxious, SUPER fatigue, foggy, forgetful.
My doc just put me on this. I begin tmrw. I’m honestly looking forward to emotional numbness because I’m so tired of always being scared and anxious. I’d rather not feel emotions.
How's it feeling now? I'm on about day 8 (added to my 40mg prozac) and I feel like it's already helping me IMMENSELY. I've tried quite a few different medications, so I don't think this is just placebo because I wasn't expecting a lot or anything so soon.
@@mynameisnothere9465 lithium is very fast acting. and the dehydration is a big perk my skin is getting flappy from being outside. those other meds i felt like placebos because it was supposed to take months to do anything. look into it, because people without mental illness have been pushing over the counter lithium small dose as it repairs consentration and memory.
Yeah I feel like no medicine is perfect but it has helped me feel a lot better than what I was feeling before I started taking it. I’m glad you’re doing well 💛
Thank you for this. I really needed to hear someone else’s experience, and the way you delivered the video made me feel like you were my friend and we were hanging out together. I love the way you story tell!
@@smithyboy8162 you definitely need to be patient with it. I’d say it took about 4 to 5 weeks for mine to start kicking in. I plan on staying on it for a couple months then tapering off.
Hello Samantha I'm glad you are doing well, I have been thinking this, for 8 months, and to be honest it really changed my life, to better, , God bless you, prayers for everyone
I wonder if it is because it works best in people with low Dopamine, which causes ADHD which means we might be more sensitive to the bump in Dopamine this causes.
Today is day 9 of taking Bupropion SR for me. They started me on 100mg for the first 7 days and now I've been on 150mg for 3 days. When I started the 100mg everything was great, I felt amazing and barely any side effects. Now that I'm taking a higher dosage I feel my heartbeat and feel like it's irregular or just different. I have had a bit of insomnia but melatonin normally helps me with that and I've been having some headaches. Also, I will cry at things so easily and for no reason really, but then shortly after I'm totally fine. Thank you so much for your update, it made me want to try and push through the side effects because I think this medication will really help me once my body gets used to it.
I just started taking it and soo far I wouldn’t say it’s bad. I haven’t felt any side effects (except dry mouth) but it is definitely helping with my anxiety. If anything it makes my head feel clear it makes me realize that my mind was all over the place before hand.
I just started today, I’m hoping to be more productive and your symptoms sound just like mine thinking about anything will put me on the verge of tears... I’m messed up, I hope I’m on the right path and can get to where your at.
It makes a world of difference, but do not mix with alcohol! I was on 150 mg and drinking regularly and it gave me major depression and panic anxiety . . . you get the scary side effects when mixed with alcohol, including suicidal thoughts! The doctor was firm and told me that I had to ditch alcohol, and he doubled my dose to 300 mg and I feel like a totally different person, and I often ask myself why I feel happy, because I was almost always exhausted and in emotional pain. Hope you are doing better now 🙂.
i’m going to be starting this medication within the next few days, i’ve been on zoloft, prozac, and lexapro and all of them ended in a bad note, my body was just feeling weird and i had panic attacks that were so bad i wound up in the hospital. i’ve been recommended to take this, and i’ve done a lot of researching, and the positive effects are everything i lack on a day to day basis which is beneficial. i’m lowkey excited to start wellbutrin, on the other hand i’m not going to get my hopes up because there’s a good chance it won’t work. this cider helped a lot!
I know I’m a bit late but there’s a test called TEMPUS which is based off of your dna and it tells you which medications work well according to your dna markers. It sounds like your body doesn’t respond well with ssri’s. Wellbutrin, cymbalta, Effexor, and a few others don’t fall under that family. Good luck!
Wellbutrin worked so good for me! Then we upgraded my dosage and it started working TOOO good and made me manic so then we found a proper dose and I’ve been good since
This medicine is raising me from the dead. I have BPD. antipsychotics, ssri, snri, so all antidepressants all shot just made me numb or something.. on wellbutrin I actually don't feel like I don't deserve to live, breathe, and enjoy sex or food. And doctors fed me escitalopram and prozac for years. Caused me memory loss, extremely numb and weight gain. And lowered motivation
Thank you for this update. I started taking Bupropion 6 days ago, and many of the side effects hit me after day 3 or 4. I was freaking out, especially because of the abnormal heart rhythms I have been noticing. I wanted to give up taking it but after watching your videos I felt more at ease. I hope it will get better and thanks again!
Any headaches? I just switched to 300 after a few months of 150 and now i have daily headaches. Some last all day! I've read that some side effects subside after some time, but I'm not sure if that applies to the headaches. I'm really hoping they pass!
@@8eSix Do you still have headaches? i have been on 150 for 6 months and just went to 300. i did have headaches with the 150 when i started. it only lasted for 2 weeks tho
I have anxiety and depression and all the effects that you stated in this video happened to me after two weeks. It's definitely life changing. The biggest one is being able to develop relationships.
I just got diagnosed with ADHD and was prescribed this medication.I’m a little bit scared of taking this medication but thank you for this video it was super helpful.
Me too ..Today. I’m stressed because I’m 45 now and I’m almost certain that I’m ADHD. The clinician on my first zoom didn’t seem very educated on Adult ADHD. We talked for 60 minutes. She’s saying maybe, but , not diagnosing , Bi-polar 😣. Starting me only on Wellbutrin.. I’ve been researching my ass off. It’s ADHD unfortunately. My Uncle is doing well on Stimulant medication & the SSRI. Worried the Wellbutrin by itself is going to make ADHD symptoms worse. Sorry I’m rambling. Guess I’ll try for the two weeks. But I’ve promised myself if I’m not taken seriously, it’s my right to get another dr. 🤞🏻 Good luck to you!
@@remingtonfrog3170 Update: I stopped taking Wellbutrin, it didn't work for me at all. It worked in making me feel a little better in terms of energy, but not with the ADHD. So I went back to my neurologist and she ended up prescribing Adderall. It's been a huge improvement! The only way I can describe what I feel on Adderall is that my mind went silent, all that chaos going on in my head telling me to do a million things at the same time and never finishing anything, it's gone. I'm sleeping SOOOOO much better too. I just started like 3 weeks ago, so let's see what happens in the next few months. An I'm 43 definitely took a long time to get a diagnosis.
Anyone here suffer with such severe depression at times, that you literally avoid conversation with people? Like at work? When my depression hits, and it always hits hard, I actively avoid people I work with. It kills me that I can be very social and outgoing one week, then the next week I’m a completely different person, zombie like even. No energy, motivation, or focus. I’ve been diagnosed with BI-polar depression, which makes sense. I’m just wondering if there are others who go through this extreme lack of social desire or ability even (obviously due to the switch that decides to turn off in the brain while activating Zombie mode).
Not uncommon at all . Depression makes you lose interest for everything , ( in most cases ) 1st of all - yourself . This being the scenario : how can you find interesting interacting with anybody if you have , temporarily , lost interest in everything humans are interested in ? And it´s all downhill from there ... as you self isolate more and more ... cognitive decline ... sooner rather than later you´ll be finding answering a call challenging ...
@@saraivatoledo1842 do you have any experience in dealing with this? As far as medication goes? I’ve tried a couple and they didn’t seem to make a difference whatsoever.
Not uncommon at all, I will be normal and fine and social and then have no motivation to do anything or speak to anyone. Depression is horrible. Get help and take the meds if needed.
I watched all three of your Wellbutrin videos. I’ve been on a high dose of SSRI for 7 years and today my Dr added the Wellbutrin XL 150 in addition to my SSRI. Your success story is encouraging to me. Thank you for sharing your personal journey.
5 weeks in. Had started taking it when I saw my breakup coming. It happened the next week. Feel like it helped me get through everything, but after a month now I feel a lot better, probably a combination of the medicine working and healing from the breakup.
I love your videos on Wellbutrin! I've been on it twice now. I can't remember why I even stopped taking it after the first time. I've been on other anti-depressants but they stopped working, Celexa, Lexapro, Trintellix, they all stopped working after a few months. Wellbutrin is the only one that really works and gets me to stop hurting myself and stop my crying spells. It's been a real life saver for me. Thinking about also making a video for Wellbutrin on my channel as well. :)
When I started Wellbutrin it was the best and it helped me significantly but after a few months in I started getting extreme anxiety and ended up in the hospital from panic attacks. 1st time in my life experiencing panic attacks so I decided to get off Wellbutrin and I am now doing so much better. No more anxiety and panic attacks after weening off.
My partner ended our happy relationship after 3 months off of this medication. He went from being rational and understanding to impatient and anxious and ended our relationship over things that were small. when i pointed out that stopping the meds may have affected his mood he was dismissive. Thankfully he has started involving his doctor and talking to a therapist. It was a mistake to stop this medication without therapy to go with it to ensure that stopping meds wouldn't have a negative impact

I have a successful story too. I have terrible anxiety. I've been on xanax for a few years (3 mg) and it got my life and motivation back because I felt great and started working out too. Fast forward, I know have decreased motivation due to depression. Wellbutrin extended release and xanax immediate release is by fast a miracle for me. I would have self harmed and gave up on life years ago, now I can't imagine thinking that way. It's so nice:))
I'm glad you found your "balance". Just be careful with benzodiazepines! I'm taking xanax 2x per day (1mg) FOR 20+ years now. It is one thing I COULD NOT GET OFF FROM and started tapering off 10y ago. I started with 0.25 and went to 4mg in 5 years and then went back to 2mg and STILL TRYING to get to 0.5mg. Just started taking this yest and your video was one of the first to come up in the search, it made me feel better about my decision and I hope to get the same results . I have been suffering for years and finally gave in. Thanks
I used to cry at everthing and anything. I took my first antidepressant may 2019 and hadn't cried a tear since. I was on 350 Wellbutrin until the Derm told me my mega hair loss was due to the med. I dropped to 150 within a wk and it slowed way down. That was 4months ago. Next wk I'm doing 100. Can't wait.
Hi Samantha Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Please know that this was very helpful. I have been prescribed this medication and have been researching it before I start it. Even though it’s a year later your information is still being helpful
Thank you for sharing your experience with Wellbutrin! This Tuesday I will be on 150mg for two weeks..I’m not quite sure yet if it’s made a difference or not. I did notice that when I got upset I wasn’t crying as intensely as I would have been. Which is good because the level of sadness I was experiencing was unhealthy I think. Like feeling TOO MUCH, if that makes sense. So idk 🤷🏻♀️ we shall see..the emotional numbness factor does make me a little nervous bc I don’t want to be a zombie but I’m not rly experiencing that and if I do, I’ll try and hang in there and see how it unfolds. Looking forward to a little weight loss lol But overall, thank you, starting an anti depressant can be scary so it’s comforting to know I’m not alone :)
Wow Samantha, what a great success story and super inspirational. I'm struggling with anxiety and depression too, and have been for years. Just today my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin for me at 150mg per day to start with and so I was looking up videos on RU-vid for information and came across your experience. I found your story to be very inspirational and something to give me hope. So thank you for being so strong and confident to share with the world. Fingers crossed that the medication also does wonders for me. I particularly love how it helped you changd and became someone who you really like. Are you still taking it today and how long has it been, if so?
I just started and on my 3rd day for anxiety and depression. I'm also experiencing the racing heart rate and I'm sure hoping it goes away! I'm going to stick it out for a few more days to see if it improves. Other than that, I've had no other side effects. Glad to hear it's working so well for you!
I take amtriplyne and bupropion. It helps me alot.. My anxiety and depression got so much better. My heart no longer feels like it's coming out of my chest. Nothing bothers me anymore. I don't care what people think. I'm not afraid to speak up anymore. Its almost like I don't care but in a good way. I actually talk to people alot more. I don't stress over the bills either.
I’m a very emotional person and it effects all of my relationships because I’m very blunt about my feelings and overly emotional it’s not that I don’t like it but I want it to tone down some because I want to feel peace, my anxiety is also out of this world I start this soon I hope it helps me feel more motivated and happy like it did for you!

In response to Brittany's comment, which I liked, I would ask this: Anyone else here watching all of her videos while anxious AND TAKING medication of multiple varieties?
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I’m so glad it’s working for you. I’m in the process of quitting/detoxing from Bupropion XL 150mg. I was on it for 2 years for depression. It helped me a lot in some ways but it increased my anxiety and panic attacks significantly. I had to start taking an anti anxiety medication and a blood pressure medication and it still wasn’t enough to stop the panic attacks. Ultimately I decided to stop taking the Bupropion to see if I can get my anxiety and blood pressure back under control.
Huub Heesakkers I’m better now. My withdrawal was TERRIBLE, lasted almost 3 weeks. Felt like I was dying. But now it’s been almost 3 months since my last dose and I feel much better. I also did a lot of work on cognitive behavioral therapy, retraining my thought patterns. I started breathing more mindfully. Those things helped tremendously.
Thank you for these videos. Hope it's still working for you. I'm about to start this medication and have many of the same feelings you described having previously.
This gives me hope. Has had Wellbutrin on hand for over a week now but has been hesitant to take it. Figured I'd see what other peoples experiences are before risking any side effects. Also, subscribed after browsing your channel and seeing titles about God. Will check those out later. Thank you!
Thank you. I started taking it three days ago in addition to some other meds I take. So far hint of headache in the mornings and CRAZY vivid dreams lol. Keep in mind if you want kids there are "safer" antidepressant/antianxiety meds to take while pregnant. Something you, your partner and your doctor will have to discuss and weigh pros and cons. I was on Zoloft when I was pregnant with my son. The pros outweighed the cons in my case. Good luck. God bless.

I wish you luck. I am going on Wellbutrin in addition to the Zoloft which I already take. The Zoloft helps my anxiety, but not the depression, and so I was prescribed Wellbutrin. I've heard that it also helps with adhd and add symptoms, which I also have, so I am hoping for the best.

Does the pharmacy change the manufacturer every time you pick it up? Thanks! I'm thinking of starting but I am worried about that a little.
Thank you for this. I'm starting 150mg tomorrow alongside my lexapro 20mg. I'm a little nervous bc I take it for panic attacks. But my Dr added it to get rid of the sleepiness, to help me quit smoking and shed some of the pounds I gained from lexapro
It helped me quit for 45 days, longest I had ever been. Then I stopped it too soon and started smoking again. I had a side effect I didn't like, can't remember what. Now I know to stick it out. Omg, I have horrible insomnia. I take bupropion 150mg 2x daily. Sleeping is never on my agenda unless I take melatonin. I’ve stayed up til 5am most nights and slept through noon or 1:00pm. I’m never hungry on these meds. I take three bites of somthing and then I’m full the rest of the day. What did you took it for would be the most essential info. Hi!! I know that you commented on this months ago, but I had an answer to one of your questions. First of all, I'm really so sorry about your friend's death. It's so tragic when people you love leave. 💗I just wanted to let you know that my therapist said that a lot of people with BPD have psychotic episodes on bupropion, which can cause them to be really suicidal. Doctors usually don't prescribe it to people with BPD for this reason. It's been really beneficial to me. I have anxiety, mild depression, moderate ADHD, PTSD, and body dysmorphia. I finally stopped rethinking everything. My mind feels at peace. I still have feelings and emotion, but I can focus better when I want to. I have dry mouth now, but it just helps me to drink water! Hope that helped. 🖤🖤
@@Kikovandeko I would recommend it. There's nothing to be scared of. I started on 150mg, and now I'm on 300mg. I’m pregnant and on Wellbutrin, there is almost nothing to suggest that it would be harmful to a fetus and my doctors and midwives have OKd it. Of course if you didn’t feel comfortable taking it it’s totally valid I just wanted to put it out there that it is an option.
I like your personality. I just started taking gabapentin. Next week I'll be starting Wellbutrin. I hope I become more calm. I also have a channel. I'm going to share my journey
Hello, I'm really glad this medication has worked for you. I've been taking Prozac for like 10 years. But I never liked it because of side effects. Mostly sexual. Which caused me for me and my wife have a lot of problems because of that until she left. So I went through a really dark time which I still am but not as bad as before I started wellbutrin. I've been on it for like three months, the fist two months I took 100mg SR and overall it was ok. Also I was working out so I think that helped too. But then the Pandemic came so I started getting depressed and anxious again, so I went to my doctor and stated on 150mg XL. Aftet a month on it, I'm feeling really depressed and anxious again. So I really don't know what else to do anymore, I just want this to end.
Sounds like adhd. Anxiety and depression can come from complications of untreated adhd. Plus wellbutrin is an off label drug treatment for this disorder.
Starting wellbutrin tomorrow and I'm really excited. Hopefully it works out for me :) Gonna take it in combination with escitalopram, which I've already been taking for a few years.

You can 1/2 to one glass of wine. In general alcohol is a depressant, so better to drink less. If you so miss a dose, wait until the next day. Do not take two doses at once. Drugs.com is good to read on medication interaction and alcohol. Best, and hope you are doing well.
Day 3 here (taking it for depression) and really hoping this works. Not feeling much different but changed taking it today from 11am to 9:30 am due to a bit of insomnia. Thanks for the video and the hope it brings.
I'm 16, soon 17, I have depression. Dopamine has been the biggest problem for me so far, it has caused for example no motivation and low energy. I've just started on Bupropion (around 2 days ago) And I've already started feeling MUCH more energetic and a tiny bit of mood changes (in a good way), Thankfully i have barely had side effects. Though yesterday, some muscle in my leg ached a bit, most likely because of the medication. I'm very lucky that it has so far not increased my anxiety or destroyed my sleep (I have to say that I take propiomazine and melatonin for my sleep, I sleep a bit better after taking this medicine actually). So far, I would recommend this medicine, but everything varies from person to person.
I suffer from depression since a teen and was off and on meds. I was on a combination of meds in 2017 including Wellbutrin XL and I took all of mine at night cause the meds made me drowsy. I mean it help but I believe a combination of meds, and therapy was the best. And last year I came to the decision to get off the meds because of trying to conceive and my regular doctor who prescribed it to me even said I would have to be off all meds in order for that to happen so it took about 6 months to get completely off and I still receive therapy and I believe everything is now very maintainable with just the therapy.
Katrina Daniel wow!! I’m very proud that you are getting off the medicine to start a family! I hope the journey goes well for you. I am nervous about getting off the meds when it’s my turn to start a family! If you’re comfortable with sharing, would you comment how you felt once you started getting off the meds? Thank you so much! 💛
Samantha Piedra like I was somewhat nervous about getting off of it at first but at the same time like I had the therapy weekly so it wasn’t like I was getting off of it with nothing there to help guide me while being off the meds and as badly as I wanted to start a family I kept reminding myself about that future goal. The Wellbutrin I don’t remember having like no withdraw side effects like you would with other meds like lexapro which is an anti anxiety med. I been diagnosed with the depression as a teen following by chronic depression, bipolar and general anxiety disorder as an adult. To me with was harder to start the meds cause of the side effects compared to getting off them. And with my therapist we do regular sessions along with cognitive therapy which is tools I learn to use to help manage the depression and anxiety myself without medication. So the one thing I would say is work with your doctor when that times comes to taper off the Wellbutrin but also maybe look into therapy ahead of time if you feel like you may be nervous about being without the medication during the family planning time and they will work with you to help giving different tools and things to do or use instead of medication. You can also do Christian counseling at your church also if you don’t want to go the therapy route
It’s strange, where I live, Wellbutrin is mainly used for depression and not anxiety - and they warn against going on it if you have mainly anxiety cause it can worsen it. I have chronic depression and have been taking 300mg a day for over a year. I think overall I’ve gotten better with it, but my baseline is generally kind of numb, both on and off medication. Right now I’m in a bad episode and constantly crying, and I’m trying a new medication combined with this one. Wellbutrin decreased my appetite but I don’t think I’ve lost weight. I haven’t had insomnia. My main side effects have been dry mouth and slow stomach/constipation. I think the risk of seizures is greatly exaggerated. I drink alcohol sometimes and sometimes cut loose and get drunk with friends, and have noticed my tolerance for alcohol is lower; I get more hungover and nauseas than normal - which is to be expected. Two times alcohol combined with Wellbutrin has worsen my depressive symptoms and increased impulsiveness, so I’d warn against that and be careful if you are going to drink.
Haha I don’t remember writing any of this.. 😂 So a year later it turns out I have undiagnosed ADHD so umm yeah I guess that’s why Wellbutrin was the only antidepressant that ever worked for me 👀
@@khalidalqassimi875 Sorry to hear that! It was definitely the worst the first 3-4 weeks when I started/increased the dose. And I’ve found if I get sloppy with exercise/daily movement and don’t drink enough water daily, I definitely get constipated more quickly; it’s like it lowers the threshold lol. From personal experience (and being a nurse) I’m afraid I don’t have any better advice than the stuff you’ve probably already heard; Try to eat more fiber, drink enough water and get like 30min movement/training daily. If it’s gets too bad I’d recommend trying laxatives like macrogol first (with plenty of water).
