Every assassins creed lead character up until now has been an entirely made up person, who knew having 1 black guy in a unique setting could cause such a meltdown. I thought everyone hated this series anyway?
Me personally I think they just making us mad about Yasuke to divert our attention about the game being trash as usual. It's like you said tho, historical characters should SUPPORT the protags, part of the job is dissappearing from the records lol. Imho Yasuke fails to be an AC protag on 2 different levels: 1) We saw it on the trailers this dude stands out so much people stop to see him, "hide in plain sight" my ass. This is non-negotiable man. 2) Yasuke could be like Bartolomeo (the dude who talked to his sword on AC2/ACB) Barto was someone who we actually know went on military campaigns for a living and gave us an insight on his life and stuff, he was part of the assassins but not like Ezio, no way. Maybe redeem his character showing us his insight of going from slavery to being a lapdog of a warlord because he "looked funny" you know, the dude actually lived thru a lot already!! But no, let's take the man who lived and died being a token to entertain, and make him a token to cause outrage ad divert attention. I won't say there is straight up bigots out there who simply don't like him because he is black (they're the target audience for Yasuke tbh) but *NO ONE* had any issue with Adewalè, and he was literally Yasuke but better, like we see the dude even stand up to the protagonist because NO ONE is making him do something he doesn't feel like doing EVER again. And you know what? Everyone loved Ade because of it. Once he embraced the Creed he was never again a slave to none, free on both a mundane earthly sense and a _spiritual_ one. Bound by nothing in his newfound wisdom he became more free than even those that once put chains on him. Using Yasuke as a token AGAIN is like spitting on the memories of an actual human being that we only know lived to serve other people, now a mockery image made of himself does the same. Yasuke after 500 years is still a slave. Kinda went on a rant there but that is what I thing on this thing. Fuck Ubisoft.
Ubisoft is still gonna sell the game like Hot cakes The community is ruining a game that is not even out yet, not even gameplay has been revealed Toxic community. Let the game speak for itself
Just to add on this, I agree that Ubisoft charges an arm and a leg, and put extra content behind a paywall, this gotta stop, disgusting of Ubisoft to charge that much despite no gameplay reveal
@@godakuri5944Problem is the character is just sort of there in history he has no achievements. So not exactly a good character, so the only possible reason to include him is his race as well thats the only thing that's different that no samurai had.
I don't care about playing as a black guy in feudal Japan, but what I do have a problem with are the people saying Assassin's Creed always tried to be historically accurate, when that's simply not true. The series itself even says that it doesn't try to be and anything it does is purely fiction. It would feature historical characters from the time period, but let's not pretend Leonardo Da Vinci helped create weapons of destruction. I hate that the game is priced the way it is despite not telling us how it's justified, and what they offer on the editions are straight up not worth. I feel like this Ubisoft's last chance before they lose tons of money and have to either lay off employees or shut down. Which I don't want to happen, but man do they gotta figure out a way to make money without scamming us out of our money with incomplete games.
The fact is that if they just made the decision to have both MCs as Japanese people, both a Samurai and a Shinobi, whether they were real or not (Hattori Hanzo ffs would have been perfect, guy was quite literally one of the most famous Ninja of Sengoku) and just made Yasuke an NPC that you could interact with and help, there wouldnt be any problem past the actually willfully ignorant people that think Yasuke is a myth.
The thing is he did create machines of destruction. Assassin's creed tries to be somewhat accurate to characters. But there has to be a line. There literally no reason to choose him as the protagonist.
TBH they have been ruining the franchise ever since AC blackflag it was IMO the last good AC game dont get me started on the open world ones those were just a insult.

I read somewhere that the developers purposefully did not have a white ninja protagonist in this game because they wanted to continue with the franchise being historically accurate with the fact that white men can’t jump.

"Ever heard of Yasuke? the literal 1 token black guy that existed in Japan at one time for all of 2 years and had literally no impact on any of the events at the time?" "Arent you worried thats not what the players want? Maybe we should focus on the Japanese warlords of the time, besides, wasnt Yasuke just a retainer?" "Oh my god! There was a BLACK SAMURAI!? Johnson youre a genius! Lets make him the main protagonist front and center!" To be clear, im not against him being in the game, just that theyre blowing him and his feats out of proportion, and making him a MC instead of doing what they ALWAYS did, and make the Protags relative nobodies who interact with the well knowns. He could have been much more well utilized as an NPC.
Bruh just say you don’t like black people. You act like AC has always been 100% historically accurate. And a black guy who was a samurai (because retainer IS a rank/type of samurai like a PVT or a PFC in the military) in a time when it absolutely unheard of is pretty unique. Not saying Ubisoft won’t fumble the bag, because they will, but being a unique person in that time has far more potential of having a compelling story then just “guy who weak become stronk”.
@@enigmaticrattus Because the only things hes known for, is being a part of the Honno-ji incident where 30 men including himself and Nobunaga were ambushed by Akechi Mitsuhide and his 13,000 mean that ended with Nobunaga committing Seppuku, taking Nobunagas head so Mitsuhide couldnt use it as a claim of legitimacy, and again being defeated with Nobutada ending with his seppuku aswell, then being shipped off to the Jesuits and presumed deported from the country. Anything else he was involved in were just lap-dog tasks. He may have been given a mid title of Kosho, but he was still not as free as people seem to think he was. Ive been a history nerd for most of my life and feudal Japan was one I was most interested in. Yasuke really wasnt impactful on events, only case possibly being taking Nobunagas head. If they decide to set this game in the time period after which he was sent to the Jesuits and therefore gives them the creative liberty to say his records vanish after that BECAUSE he joined the Assassin Order, i wont have that much of a problem with it aside from the glaringly obvious "how does a black man stay invisible and unrecorded in a country where his people are 1 in 100,000.

so your argument is is that they 1. added dlc ? - all games has it. Have you worked in those companies that make huge sales across 1 million. They have bunch of strategies. This one without gameplay supposed to make you know when the game is coming out. Next they drop gameplay - they have communication plan. Ubisoft is International company - if you google reviews they are mostly bad. 2. Characters - don't be racist. She is japanese. They are both japanese. Ubisoft told they made those characters is that they visit Japan as not knowing nothing about it. you basically have nothing. if you want to buy dlc - you buy it. They don't force you. plus you can buy this game for 20 bucks if you know how.
