I moved from Bristol to Blackwood six years ago. Best thing I ever done in my life. Lovely place with very friendly people.The only regret I have is not moving here 40 years ago.

I was born and bred in Pontllanfraith - Blackwood was my "market town" where I played football for Blackwood Methodist Youth Club.

Lovely town. I love all the sculptures and that they are full of meaning to the town. I know artists usually do put thought into the form and function of their work and installations. How they fit into the surroundings and their purpose. I like the use of metal and how this material is so connected to the people who brought coal out of the ground and in turn ran the factories and foundries to make steel. Thanks again for sharing another wonderful place in Wales. I cannot wait to come. Hopefully in the next half decade, I'll get to see all these beautiful places for myself. My first footstep in Wales was in Blackwood in 1970.

What a pleasant place to live, nothwithstanding that noisy road, but a green sanctuary was close at hand and those birds singing away in the background were heartwarming to hear. As was your excellent information, as always Phil. Blackwood was founded by a man who really knew how to make things happen and bring about change. So it's good to see that it's flourishing! Thanks both for a really interesting trip!
