Welwyn Garden city | Hertfordshire | A town Called...| 1976 

I was born here in 1936 I left when l came out of the army aged 22 .but lstill love to see my old town.

I recently started work there.. Feels like it's still 1930..

brings back happy memories of my childhood in WGC left there in 1965

Wow, one of the few places where not a tad has changed!

Not a lot has changed in WGC over the years it would seem except there's exponentially more traffic now, it's hard to imagine driving through WGC with that little traffic or parked cars

I have many memories although fragmented as I was only 2 years old. I lived here between 1976-1978 maybe later. I lived at 67 Homestead road and I remember moving not far to 208 Knella road. I know it wasn't too far as I traveled there in the back of the removal truck with my dad and it was a real short trip. I remember my play school but not the name. My nursery nurses were Miss Payne and Mrs Douglas. I remember my first ever school but again have no idea of the name. I had a best friend called Philip who had a mum called Lizzie/Izzie. remember the local shop the name was pear trees, although it may have been the name of the area. I'm watching these videos to try and jog some more memories and get the feel for this place.

Went past the flat i lived in i. 1976 at 1:00, i would have been a baby though, lol.

See how quiet the roads were. It's exactly the opposite now after 11am . In floods the 4-wheeled mayhem, all piloted by peeps in search of space. lol
