Miss Wendy Holcombe died of a heart ailment in 1987, she was 23. What an absolute heart breaking happening. She was so very talented, she could play several stringed instruments and did it very well. She was not only a very good musician but she played those instruments as good as anyone especially the banjo. She could play with the very best !!!
I recall seeing her on TV when they called her Little Wendy Holcombe, said to hear that she passed away at such a young age. She really brought some nice spirit to the old classics. :P
She lived near us in Alabama, so we got to see her at a lot of local things. She was so pretty and so sweet, I had a huge crush on her. She was a really nice girl and it was so tragic when she passed away.
Wendy was the reason I started watching "Nashville on the Road." I mean, you talk about a tremendous talent...and country music's all the poorer because Wendy Lou died all too soon. Thanks for posting this one, Randall!
Watching this clip makes me know what it would feel like to be in a parallel dimension where Dolly Parton died tragically young. Ms. Holcombe had that much star potential.
Wow! Where did she come from?!!!! The Lord gave her a full life cause He knew He had to call her back early. They don’t make Sheila’s like that no more. Greetings from Crows Nest QLD. 🦘💨💨💨
I enjoy banjo music however I'm not impressed with her version of Ol Slew Foot. I felt it was more about showing off her banjo skills. Don't get me wrong, she is definatly a very talented picker. It just didn't do the song justice. To fast and banjo to loud.
If they can't see the incredible talent it took to play it like she did and sing it so well well what can you say they must lead a pitiful existence looking for others shortcomings while obviously ignoring their own let me guess they could do it better????👀
