Wendy was certainly one of a kind. I would have given anything to send time with a girl so pure and country. Love her talent, and I had no idea she had died. My prayers to her family, they certainly got to see a angel on earth. She was the best !
Wendy never let her fame change her genuinely sweet personality. She was always nice to her fans on and off stage. I wish todays pop country performers would learn from her performances how to be a true country act.
I love this video. She is a Legendary Banjo player to me and always will be. I loved her story on here too. I miss you Wendy. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ
A perfect example of a true musical talent and artist. I remenber watching her on tv and the joy she showed while playing was so much fun to watch. The pop country singers of today could really learn a lot from her showmanship.
I grew up watching this amazing young lady. Every morn on the Country Boy Eddie show on Channel 6 in Birmingham Al as I got ready to catch the school bus. Yes that is her original accent. Wish we had a video of her in the pig tails bouncing around picking that banjo! I had such a crush on her. LOL
I have not been this bummed in a long while. I originally saw wendy on "Nashville now" with ralph emery. I was instantly enchanted with her "down hominess" let alone her skill on the banjo. the world is a bleaker place
Wow! I hadn't realized she had passed away. I remember I used to see her on TV a lot back in the early 80's. I couldn't remember her name, but I always remembered the blonde with the mad banjo playing skills. So sorry to find out that she passed away so young.
The only time I'd ever seen Wendy was when she was on a short-lived TV series called, "Wendy Hooper, US Army." It was in 1981, right after "Private Benjamin" became a hit. I only recently heard of Wendy's death. I was shocked that she died at such a young age. She was talented, and beautiful.
