I did not know her well. I sold her tomatoes at the Union Square farmers market and she would take time to chat with me. She was very kind to me and was a really nice person. I was upset when I heard she passed and I think about her from time to time.
Joan Rivers also did a brilliant interview with GWAR. Joan was not the most appreciated comedienne of her time, but she certainly broke a lot of ground and was a respectful and open minded person. Rest in Peace, princess.
I knew Wendy from when I worked around the corner from her appointment in Manhattan, she came in the store I worked in every Saturday for cleaning products. She was a sweetheart may she rest in peace 🙏🙏
So much not known about her to her fans except her stage persona... She definitely NEEDS A STORY TOLD... And don't laugh... Lady Gaga would be perfect as a Wendy O...
My name is Andrea I listen to you so much I still listen to you Wendy O Williams my dad broke many of your records and I just went out and bought them again LOL rest in peace sister\M/😚👊😢
There will never be another Queen like WOW. She was just one of the most Metal women to have ever lived. Everything about her was fucking awesome!! The only part about her that sucked is that she is no longer with us and it breaks my heart. I hope she's in a better place. Hopefully rocking it out for eternity in Valhalla. RIP Wendy O. You will be missed. And you too Joan. Thank you in showing this Queen the respect she deserves. RIP both of you.
Thanks for posting I saw this when it first aired and laughed my ass off when Wendy said "Wendy's rule...if it isn't clean enough to put in your mouth don't take it home and sleep with it"....I thought it was the tonight show but this brought it all back 30 years later.
@@schattenheim The talent is still out there, but it’s underground now, because they won’t put anyone but their own autotuned crap that they came up with on TV or the record labels these days. Look to your local scene or go on a trawl on some independent music sites or youtube channels to find the new good stuff. It won’t be on the air.
The date is wrong on this video. The correct date is Oct. 21st, 1986. Right in the beginning of the video Joan says, "The Mets just beat the Red Sox, 7-1." That was Game 3 of the 1986 World Series.
The Day That The Mets Won The World Seríes, i Was With My Friends in a Bar Around Greenwich village And Later That Night Keith Hernandez Was Driving Around in a White Limousine With 2 Topless Blond Girls Showing Everything Out Of The Sun Roof... Was Crazy That Night. In Washington Square Taking the Cap At the Police Fill Out With Beer and Putting Back in Their Head. And They Allowed i Think They Understand We in Celebration Mode And Only We Did it Only a Couples If Times... Different World, Different Times.and We Only Kids 18 or 19 Years Old...Also I Meet Joan Rivers in 1999 or 2000 in a Goodwill Store in Downtown Manhattan. I Asked Her...You Had Your Own Line Of Clothes,Bags, Jewelry,Etc, Etc, Why Are You Here And She Tall Me That Remember The Birthday Of a Person That Likes Vintage Jewelry From The 40's And 50's And She Was Looking To SEE iF She Found Some in There. She Was Very Polite. And Talk With Others Customers in the Store. And From Wendy O Only Had A Couples Of Originals Pictures Of Her in A Concert in The Mid- 80's With a Black Leotard With Red Tape All Over Her, And Hid Nipples Cover With a Little Piece Of Black Tape..... Classic Wendy O. RIP Both Pioneers Ladies ....Joan & Wendy.
Back when interviews were carefree less guarded and not necessarily politically correct. Questions weren't approved by the celebrities because back then people were more open to discussion.
LOL this was probably one of the most coolest shows I've ever seen! Wendy seems so comfortable here and she seems lovin Joan and every minute of this experience. Gotta say Joan was a REALLY easygoing & funny person.
I’m kinda wondering why it took me so long to discover the Plasmatics/Wendy O, and I’ve been into punk for almost 25 years now, and metal almost as long. I love this. Sounds like if very early Anthrax had Wendy O as the singer.
When I worked for telephone company NYNEX , Wendy use to come into deli we’d hangout at around 4ish get coffee smoke dope with us and buy us beers then of to F train to Brooklyn .
I love it. WOW and the plasmatics were my groove. such a great show appearance and Joan is awesome. great show. no BS like today, politics BS and on and on
I can't help fallning in love with you Honey dear WENDY R.I.P. SEE YOU BEYOND THE STARS BABE! And i start cryin every time think about her suicide,Wendy dear what did you do to your self,i wish could had been there and take her into my arms and ask honey whats up? I'll help you back on feet again, and also tell her:honey sweetheart there's never anny reason to commit suicide poor girl.
Two women that broke the rules and made a scene in comedy and music! Never loved Gene Simmons but damn he put his money and time into Van Halen and Wendy O!
Apparently you have never heard of Mayhem..look them up!!They pretty much murdered one another!!!And by pretty much..they did...and one of the murdered clan took pictures of their band members sucide by shotgun and used it for an album cover....this band wasn't dangerous...maybe promiscuous...the two are not in the same realm!!!
@@damienhellwitch1024 She was no “chick”, she was a fuckin’ powerhouse of a woman. Save the “chick” for your next little tinder date who talks to you about some tv show and the weather 😂
@@jayrockhammer calling women “basic ass instagram girls” is cringe. grow up and appreciate all women. she paved the way appreciate what shes done dumbass
What really made Wendy o Williams shine is the fact the songs were. good it wasn't just her performance or her personality she had the songs to back it all up.
I was in high school when she had their first album with the Plasmatics and they were just outrageous, but there were several outrageous groups. I know kids that followed Marilyn Manson in the 90's probably think they invented this craziness but Wendy O would get arrested and beat up for her antics. They were a wild act. In interviews there certainly seemed like a sweet person under the zaniness. Shame she took her life at 48.
Yup. She had court cases, too, with varying results. They were obsessed with the idea of “obscenity”, and had to go against her in everything she did. Reminds me of the priest from Hunchback of Notre Dame - they were all probably secretly just as obsessed with her as her fans.
Wendy dressed like this because it was her to an unfiltered degrees. It's not exploitative, since it only shows her for who she really is. Also, she lives up to the extremity and makes the look more of an extension of herself than just a reason to stare.
My feeling is that Wendy couldn't be phony if she tried. That's probably why she did what she did. I usually wouldn't say this, but I find her to be a brave soul.
IN MASSACHUSETTS I JUMPED ONSTAGE WITH HER AS DID MANY OTHERS BACK IN THE DAY AND AT THE END OF HER SHOW SHE HANDED ME HER GUITAR WHICH SOME RUDE BIG MAN GRABBED OUT OF MY HAND HOWEVER SHE'S SUCH A DOLL; RIP WENDY
as a young boy i thought Connie Sellecca was everything . she is so banal and empty compared to Wendy O Williams . God rest your soul Wendy , the whole universe loves your spirit
I thought that Connie looked familiar. Smokin hot! But, yes, next to Wendy she's a tad on the tame side, but then again, who wouldn't be. I liked the pie in the face, from Connie to Joan, though. Sweet touch.
