Barge your way into a Wendy's kitchen pushing people out of the way and start aggressively cooking while screaming this song as they call the cops and pull at your shirt trying to get you to leave and a child in the dining room is crying
At my first Wendy's job (about 1998), we trained on a VCR. I personally trained on the Hot Drinks video, Grill Skills, and the one where Ronald McDonald is found dead in the walk-in, and it's a courtroom drama that teaches you about proper closing procedure. Thank you for keeping these alive.
@@ultra1179: Here's part 1. You can find part 2 in the suggested videos. Without giving away major spoilers (because it's just batshit enough of a storyline not to spoil), they call him Mac MysteryBurger to avoid lawsuits. A Wendy's employee is arrested for murder when she's found over Mac's lifeless body in a walk-in freezer during close at a Wendy's. The training elements are presented as court testimony. It's weird, yo. And it's how I trained as a Wendy's closer in 1998. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yvl5z0k6vjg.html
@@gayjayy Now that you've seen it, you need to show your friends. Believe me when I say there is nothing like the expression on a friend's face when they find out this is a thing that exists. Especially if they work at Wendy's.
@@ThisHorrorFilmDoesNotExist Well goddamn, just when I thought I'd seen all of the wacky training videos and ya hit me with this shit. But honestly, thank you!
What's wrong with getting really passionate about Wendy's hot drinks? I'd rather have the chick at Wendy's singing "Hot drinks, really get you going, wind you up when you feel you're slowing! Wendy's we always serve it right away, add a smile and have a nice day!" and give me coffee that hadn't sat there for more than the 30 mins hold time.
This is such an amazing case of management having the terrible idea of making a training "music video", but by some fluke they hired a team of producers, techs, engineers, editors and talent who actually made something amazing with their whole heart, for no reason other than personal pride. There is NO WAY they thought anyone would see this, they all only made it this good because they are the kind of people who don't believe in doing anything half-assed. We should all be inspired.
This is why I fucking hate the 90’s. They’re like a more bland, basic version of the 80’s. Everything about the 90’s can be summed up in those pictures of people in school text books where everyone’s wearing a single colored sweater or shirt. It’s revolting. We’ve come so far but our past’s wounds still bleed in my heart and I am ashamed of these wounds for all of humanity.
I was like I've had to have heard this! I dove down the rabbit hole to find the solution and am glad I did. Thanks Barb and everyone involved in the Mario community. Lmao.
RadMartigan A veritable hero’s farewell. The hard rain in the cemetery matches the tears on the faces of those enduring the eulogy. At the cessation of the praises of the recently departed, the coffin makes its final journey earthward. The crying of the small congregation is suddenly eclipsed by the first few bars of the Wendy’s hot drinks tutorial. “Add a smile and have a nice daaaaaaay”.
Geoff Roach But as the grave fills up with the fragrant and rich dark coffee, all of a sudden the coffin bubbles up and starts floating. The lid bursts open and my caffeine-animated corpse starts dancing to the hot drinks song.
100% truth Sept 1996. Chicago. I was 16. Just driving home from my first day at Wendy's on Archer and Central. I was singing hot drinks in my 1990 Chevy Lumina. I can't believe it's on YT. The world is an amazing place
At my old job, I was folding laundry in the back with this playing on the screen. I was singing right along as a coworker walked in and I was so in the zone I didn't even notice. He asked what I was singing and I looked him dead in the eyes and said the Wendy's Hot Drink song.
@Jlex very much appreciated! Although I am in fact a ma'am lol. Another coworker also heard me through the wall and I had to tell her as well. The business ended up going under in 2020, but we had a lot of fun moments like that.
@@thomaswrestling6449 Just for clarity no current Wendy's employees are not trained this way. If I remember correctly the videos now are really boring and bland, definitely no music videos or fun shit like this. Been almost a decade though so I can dream that they brought it back since I left.
@@thomaswrestling6449 No one at the one I worked at ever mentioned these songs, I imagine most were too young, myself included, to have heard of them. Maybe now that it's a thing kids that have seen the videos will try and bring it back. No idea how young you are but I would advise against a job at any fast food place ever, unless you have no choice. Try to work at a grocery store, usually less stressful, less angry customers, and better coworkers.
I kid you not, I actually did this in my S2000 about 6 years ago, I chucked it on a mix cd cos I liked the song and it came on so I cranked it! I had to beat off the women with hot drink stirring spoon

this is actually a fuckin' jam. thoughtful lyrics, respectful messages, fresh fruit and other healthy choices. today's hip-hoppers just don't even know.
He was probably the cleaner working in the back. One day they came up to him like: "We need someone who is a confident and professional dancer, singer, actor and presenter to be the face of our training video." "The best we can give you is $18 as this is an entry level position in the industry. You should be happy we're giving you this opportunity" And then they'd try get all the shoots done in under an hour so they wouldn't have to pay him another $18.
Every time I watch this, I'm completely blown away by the fact that a training video for a mediocre fast food joint is not only informative to the employees, but also a pretty damn good song/music video. I honestly have caught myself humming the chorus a few times!
I really wish that Wendy's release the songs in an album the advertising market for them with the off the chain! bonus points if they add new tracks that are just as good as Hot Drinks and Cold Drinks.
I bet he’s the mayor or a high up executive with Wendy’s with like a private bathroom in his office and an assigned parking spot that says “Reserved - Hot Drinks”

I demand to know who wrote this absolute masterpiece of a song, and who the singer is. (and the visuals are fresh as fuck, especially that shot in the chorus where the dude blows away steam from the cup)
Barb brought me here, as this song is now embedded in my soul. And the worst thing is, when you're doing groceries while this song is stuck in your head... or IS IT THE BEST THING!!

Here is a little known trick: you can get a free hot drink at Wendy’s if you hum the whole song at the counter. They might tell you to stop or to move out of the way, but don’t listen to them it’s just a trick. I’ve gotten 4 free drinks this way.
In a creative and woefully misguided attempt to connect with their younger workforce, the company hired a little-known singer named Marvin Hawkins to write and perform a song built around the general premise that hot drinks get you going, and furthermore, they warm you up when you feel you're slowing
Everyone talks about hot drinks guy. Not enough people are talking about how this video was directed. The camera angles? That shot with the red light? The graphics? Sheeeet
