All due respect I live with Graves Disease. I echo what her son said there's something else going on. That's some source of substance abuse whether alcohol and or cocaine or both! When I first saw her eyes that was my thoughts as well. I immediately thought Graves’ disease but I’ve never heard anyone say that about her. It could be other things as well as that. Prayers for her 😢
I remember suffering from Graves’ disease and thyroid eye disease. It was absolutely horrible. My eyes bulged a lot like this, my hair fell out, weight loss, I had a terrible temper and had to deal with brain fog. I’m so thankful that it’s in remission and I’m back to normal. I’m praying that Wendy gets healing from this awful disease because it’s no joke

There could be a lot of causes for bulging eyes, whether it’s a tumor, metastatic cancer leukemia, but the most common is An autoimmune disorder called Graves’ disease it’s the most common cause of hyperthyroidism and bulging eyes. I understand now why she went to see a neurologist. If she has memory issues this could easily be Huntington’s disease, dementia, Alzheimer’s, anything really. But the alcohol will only heighten and worsen the symptoms. I worked in the neurology department and saw cases like hers and sometimes it could be a hereditary condition or it could be old age. Whatever it is, I hope she’s alright and I hope her family is helping watch over and take care of her. It seems like she has a pretty strong support system so that’s great. This can also indicate a cognitive issue as well. These diseases affect the brain, hence affecting the mind and the way the body functions along with it. She’s probably not even aware she’s doing it.

I watched every episode of the docu-series and her condition blew my mind. Seeing Wendy without that incredibly sharp mind and quick wit isn't something I would have ever expected to witness, especially at her age. I hope they finally figure out what's best for her because everything that was being done in that docu-series is CLEARLY not working for her.

I was diagnosed with Graves disease 24 years ago. Fortunately, my eyes wasnt affected. I did have the goiter and had the Radation Iodine Treatment. Want from Hyper to Hypo, and it's a continuous fight. My doctor basically explained that the thyroid is the engine. Your body is the car.
I decided to go against the grain and work on mine naturally, through fasting, diet, and remedy. I see a tremendous difference and my goither is leaving. Left side gone. I like the analogy. The Thyroid is the engine and the body is the car. I see now why I use to say I feel as though there's a hole in my body and my all my vital life force energy is seeping out. Went to Dr. every year blood work and all and no one ever mentioned my thyroid until I ended up too weak to walk in the hospital. You have to be an advocate for your own health. Seriously! It's amazing what fasting and diet can do for your body. I refuse to walk through life not feeling good and not being full of vitality. I'm currently on a 365 raw food journey...anybody is welcome to join me.

It hit me as soon as I started watching this, it's a thyroid problem! I have had a serious thyroid problem years ago. I went from a thyroid storm,of super hyper I'd had for probably a couple of years or so,then dropped to a completely non active, hypothyroid within 6-7 months, causing me permeant damage all these years. I read comments here, referring to her having Graves Disease, and I'm so glad she's been diagnosed. Thyroid is nothing to mess with. Just don't let it go the opposite way, especially not fast. This is serious stuff!
My mom hada serious thyroid problem and the doctor who was treating her for blood pressure, not thyroid, it took a woman she was working with, to tell my mom to get her thyroid checked, I am glad she got help, it took radiation to get rid of the thyroid gland and she was put on thyroid medicine, but back in the old days doctors would put people in a padded cell, craziness but doctors didn't know, but thank God, for new technology, Praying for her, Thyroid storms are bad and dangerous, seriqual is medicine that helps from staying awake at night during a thyroid storm. Thyroid weather it be hyperthyroid or hypothyroid it can run in the family. The children should be tested every year, I caught mine early with blood work, I remember it all to well, I take my thyroid medicine everyday before I eat anything. Wendy's children should get a court order to help her, she is not in control. I'm speaking from experience.
For years Ive said this when Her eyes started to open more. But Im just a speck in the Universe. People don't really care for the famous until someone harmful happens. I was misdiagnosed with graves, but found out I have hypo and hyper thyroid disease. I went through a thyroid storm in 2010 and nearly died. I did not heal 100% and ended up losing my career in 2019 due to continuous health issues. Graves disease is also dangerous. I can only imagine that along with her other battles has rocked Wendy's world.

I think losing her mother also deeply affected her, that grief coupled with the pandemic, her spiraling addiction, loss of her career, and her divorce/her son becoming an adult.. That's a lot of loss to grapple with in a short period, especially considering her entire core identity was firmly rooted in her role as a daughter, wife, mother and talk show host. Losing all those titles, having to suddenly navigate life by herself and then having to deal with deteriorating physical health on top it all, it's like a perfect storm.
Yes that's true, but to me she started going down 👇 really after her mom died, that's when I started seeing things about her little by little, and after the husband situation she went all the way down 👇 after his cheating the baby conceived... yep so sad.. 😢 Like my mom used to tell me throughout my life.. ' You can tell me where you've been, but you can't tell me where you're going in life... very very true... don't know what'll happen to you in life all you can do is keep living life that's all.
I think these people are awful for exploiting this woman in such a derogatory manner. Ms. Williams has a thyroid disorder, that can affect her eyes, her mind, her weight, and too many things to mention. Instead of people who claim to have her best interest at heart, I’m seeing the opposite. She needs to be taking her medications, and more importantly, she needs time, privacy, and time to heal. I suffer from a thyroid disorder. Before my diagnosis, I was all over the place with everything aspect of my life! With medication, a better diet, loving, and caring people in my life, I’ve gotten back on a healthier, more consistent and productive path. I just hate that she doesn’t have the love and support of a strong, supportive, and praying partner in her life. Her now adult son can be of help, but he needs help navigating this as well. Get your rest Ms. Williams, you’re not done, until GOD says so. Prayer has a way, of changing things. ❤
My dad has Graves disease. Sometimes his eyes look really bugged out like hers. But he's otherwise a healthy 80 year old with no history of addiction of any kind....I honestly pray for Wendy to get the help and healing and rest she needs for her son's sake - and for hers ❤❤❤
@@sonyareyes1000Don't worry, as long as he does what the doctor says, and takes his thyroid medicine he should be fine. Everybody's graves disease is not like Wendy's. I've had/have it and have now for 20 years. My eyes do not bulge and are in good condition. Wendy also has TED with is thyroid eye disease. Some people with graves get TED but not all. Graves also goes into remission. Where you are fine as long as you take care of yourself and take your meds. Your body will be in hypothyroidism instead of hyperthyroidism.... If you have any questions about graves disease I'll be happy to answer them for you. Social media be making up stuff.

Im an RN and i knew immediately looking at her she has graves disease. She needs to see a good endocrinologist to test and monitor her thyroid. I agree! I have chronic illness and disability and they don’t even have a social worker at the hospital anymore, to help you find shelter. Mold in my housing is causing my asthma exacerbation and it has turned into COPD. I was a full time career woman, before I moved here. It was fine, until there was a flood the landlord never cleaned up and he’s an independent homeowner, so we don’t have the recourse you do, with a management company to hold responsible. I don’t even have a lease. I don’t smoke anything. Even if people do, they need health care. Many diseases are caused by lifestyle factors and earning a living affects our ability to control those factors. Even for people who are well off, their careers are causing so much stress, it’s killing people. Poverty is also making people sick and shortening lifespans. Good to hear from someone who is aware of what’s going on. The research is there about how to treat addiction effectively, for one thing. We just haven’t prioritized implementing these methods, as a country. I’m studying this formally, right now.

I was married to a man in my 20 s who had Graves disease......he was one of the youngest people to have ever had it . He changed quickly loosing over 50 pounds in just a few months. His hands would shake, he slept alot, he couldn't quench his thirst and he had something called prickly heat ....he was so hot he would sit outside ,shirtless in the winter. Wendy has that on top of possibly menopause....that is hell. She clearly needs help support and understanding. She is a powerhouse of a woman. ... even the strongest suffer from illnesses. That sounds horrible to me. I just entered the Menopause world and I was so hot all the time just doing basically anything, that I wanted to end it. That was an awful summer of high humidity and temperatures and I was still in that in between world to understand what was going on. Thankfully the HRT helps with the profuse sweating, but I still struggle with temperature regulation and they believe that it’s part of the Fibromyalgia that I’ve had for over 10 years already. To watch yourself fall apart is tough, and I can feel for anyone going through it.
