Obviously W.W. did not suffer from brain trauma, tumor or stroke. But they did not mention the cause of her aphasia which is Alcoholism and substance (cocaine) abuse.
FTD absolutely affects your memory, wtf are they talking about? Aphasia resulting from stroke or traumatic brain injury is not the same as frontotemperol dementia with primary progressive aphasia, she has a fatal neurodegenerative disease.
It seems pretty minor compared to the frontotemporal dementia she was also diagnosed with though, which this old guy doesn't have...frontotemporal dementia causes memory loss, random laughing and crying, increasingly inappropriate behaviour, total loss of empathy, anger, loss of inhibitions, and progressively losing the ability to speak or walk. So I'd say the Aphasia is the least of it.
not with FTD, you're losing your ability to communicate in general. It's a progressive neurodegenerative disease that gets worse over time, and in the long run some people lose all of their ability to understand language and communicate. I think thats really harsh, tbh a lot of the more offensive things she's said over the years were *because* of the frontotemporal dementia she's got. You can google it, it causes loss of normal human empathy. If you look up her when she was younger, she was a really sweet girl
