I like the clean look of your image. The background looks properly lit and balanced. The blue works well against your skin tone and it's good that you are not over saturating the RGB color lights on the back wall. The sound is also good. The easier it is for viewers to watch, the more time they'll spend watching. Keep it up.

Only recently discovered your vids mate, congrats on the anniversary, you have come a long way in a year. Theres a lot of guitar related vids out there and I enjoy elements of many of them. Yours have a sprinkle of my type of humour as well as some good information. Keep it up man, I wish I had the confidence (and guitar playing ability) to do it!
Aww mate! Thank you for your kind words 😃🙏 I have to admit... I do struggle with the confidence part myself. Moreso with the playing. When the camera is on I struggle to get anything going, without making loads of mistakes. I know it's all in the mind - I need to work on that 🙈 I don't have this problem when not recording or gigging
@@stevecassidyguitar Well it doesnt come across, you play great to my ear. Never listen to haters either, Im a photographer and I was disheartened by negative comments on my pictures when I first started and out of curiosity I posted a pic by an incredible, well known photographer (one of his lesser known pics) and the people tore that apart too. It proved to me once and for all that no matter how great your work is, a few people will always be wanting to bring you down. I look forward to seeing more.

@@deatheric Spot on mate - I have stole video ideas from the comments section before 😀 Interestingly as you mentioned about the Budget Vs £1k+ guitars... You may have already seen this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GVidRT0SaLg.html I'm not suggesting you watch it as it's vs a £700ish Fender player... BUT! .. have a read of the comments section. About a dozen people saying they prefer thier Jets over USA Fenders, some even custom shops! 🤯 (Weirdly, a lot people consider £1k guitars to be "mid-range" now. I certainly don't! 😂) I just sold my beach Jet JS450 to a guy on facebook the other day (great player too), he was astonished! This next part is unbelievable... the next day he messaged me to say he'd bought another Jet JS400 and has listed his 2 suhrs and a Tom Anderson for sale! 🤯 Re the Desert Island Guitar - I do have a vid in mind to make about this. The short version is - it wouldn't be something off the shelf 😜 Thanks for the comments and ideas mate! 😀👍

Seriously considering getting one now this year 💸 I've tried fender player in store and was not impressed at all, I'd say my squier classic vibe is better than that. I haven't tried fender american though but I could never justify the price. Looking forward to seeing you get a custom guitar in the future! From my experience it could be hit or miss depending on the builder.
@@deatheric I don't think I'll be able to afford a Custom Build anytime soon 🙈 Partscasters will suffice for now 😜 The only difference between the old Fender USA Standard and the Fender player series is, the fretboard edges are not rolled, crap string tree, plastic nut and they're made in the factory "across the road" 😜 Seems to be same parts and woods otherwise. The Jet neck feel is closer to the USA than the player imo

Great to see the progression Steve both in terms of editing and the numbers! I’ve got a bit jaded with the endless streams of new OD pedals or 20 RU-vidrs all discussing the price of the latest Joe Bonamassa Epiphone blah blah but your videos are fun and don’t take themselves too seriously which fits me well. This year, I think I'd like to lean more into the fun and different stuff. Last night I got a great idea for a vid (I think) and ended up scripting and prepping until 2am. Was great fun! Also got the motivation back for the other vids too now. Thanks for letting me spew this out here 😂🙏
@@stevecassidyguitar No problem Steve, vent away!! I mean it’s difficult as I’m guessing what you want to do and what the stats say you should do won’t always be the same thing. It’s a guitar channel and so there ‘should’ be reviews, comparisons and the like but maybe interspersed those with ‘you being you’ type stuff? I’d be into the more ‘lesson based’ videos as that is what I (and I’m guessing many others) really need versus what we want which is more gear! 😂

Regarding the learning vids i would definatley be interested in watching more of them. what i would also like to see is you giving Rick the novice guitarist a lesson or two. or someone else. rather than a bog standard this is what you do etc. seeing someone actually being taught and how they struggle with different things and how to get around them would be great. im a guitar mad beginner of a playing standard less the rich by the way.

I could be wrong, but it could be other Guitar teachers that might benefit from this? 🤔 We sometimes do this at my teaching job, where we sit in on each others lessons. You're giving me some good ideas here... I'm thinking, even though the information/theory is universal and everyone should learn it - "I don't think the 1 size fits all" model works 😬 If I was selling lessons (I'm not) I would be biased. But... even thought the info should be the same - the presentation needs to be more tailor made. and for that... you need to "know" a bit more about the students learning style and tastes too. Soz... just thinking out loud here 🙈😂

Thanks for the mention, but I was happy to help with the logo; it was something a bit different and enjoyed doing it. Have you thought of looking at Artist Guitars ? Australian company available in the UK at great prices . I own the Grunge Master { Jazz Master type offset ) and am much impressed .
Seem to recall I came across your channel on a RU-vid recommendation early 2023, probably as I was looking at Fazley/JET or something. Rich at Novice Noise Maker is also entertaining as is Jonny. John Robson is someone I have followed for a couple of years and learned quite a bit terms of theory etc. The rest of the guy's i'll take a look as they so seem to have interesting way of doing things. I uploaded a video in Jan 2023 for a bit of fun then did a few more just to see if it's something I wanted to do. I'm not entirely sure It's for me as I can't get my head around sitting in front of a camera talking to no one in particular though i'm ok with jamming on my guitar to my own stuff. As for 2024 keep doing what your doing as it's very unique in terms of content and delivery. The next two Fridays should be interesting going from Johns beer call to your livestream just a pity I'm doing dry January to give my liver rest. As for 2000 subscribers 'it's in the bag' to coin a phrase 😀😀

I seize up and can't "flow" with the playing side of things for the vids. But what helps me for the talkinfg part is - I imagine I'm talking to one person - my best mate, and sharing my guitar stories with the same banter as if we were in the pub. Well... something like that 🤷♂️ I do enjoy making the vids, but I've got to mindful it doesn't overwhelm me 😬 I hope you decide to do more this year - If you want to 👍 Cheers again mate 🙏
