Were the Pokemon World Championships Really that Bad?

When it comes to the Pokémon center, I talked about this on a podcast a few weeks ago on how I felt like it should’ve been done. My personal list is Disabled people (have to show verification) get first priority. Junior players get next one Then seniors and masters after another And then content creators can have their turns and then the normal public. Just seems disrespectful that players and the disabled have to go through all that in the center to get nothing

I understand paying a premium for items released years ago, but that’s disappointing to pay more when you actually attended Worlds. Hopefully next year will be better.

Congrats on playing and competing!!! That’s so great! Since Hawaii and Oahu is my backyard I am in total agreement with you. Players should get priority since you are playing and distracted with competing and no time to stand in line for 2+ hours for your reservation time. Certainly priority above the professional yt’ers that just went in for prime time at 8am and got exclusive vouchers for the limited edition items. Skateboards and ukelele…don’t even think about it. Agree about the scalpers. Didn’t show up well for Hawaii. But as a spectator and pogo player I had a blast! 🎉

Damn scalpers ruin everything

Thanks for sharing your experience! Hearing about the the Pokémon Centre and the scalpers lined up outside sounds really shitty. It’s really my least favourite part about being a Pokémon fan. It’s always the people that genuinely want to own the stuff that end up missing out. People are awful. Especially since we tend to miss out on cool stuff down under

I’m hoping that for the next two years since Worlds will be a lot closer to home for TPCi, the Pokémon Center stores there will be able to hold a lot more stock. I can imagine shipping merch from Seattle to Hawaii isn’t very easy nor cheap, but Seattle to Cali, super easy in comparison.

To be honest, although I didn't get the badge, but the blessing in disguise is that we actually have more time to actually experience the more outside Oahu. We went to the biggest OPEN MALL in the world, and oh boy let me tell you, YOU can actually have a good time !
