This is beautiful but like others you are leaving out the most beautiful awesome part, he has risen , were you there when the stone was rolled away. Without his rising from the dead and conquering death and the grave, we have no hope of living again. We must proclaim he lives, the tomb couldn’t hold him!

Love the arrangement and performance, but they didn’t sing the BEST verse-“Were you there when He rose up from the grave?” The whole purpose of His death, Him conquering sin and death, and then victoriously rising from the dead!!

Jesus Christ our king ! Everything points to Jesus. The sun rises and sets and rises again. Spring turns to summer to fall to winer and back to spring. Resurrection is what the author, the creator, plainly puts right in front of the world every day. Nature itself testifies of Jesus .

I just heard the video today on Tuesday. March fifth twenty twenty four truly beautiful voice , beautiful rendition , but however , y I realize that this is really meant for Good Friday. But our Lord Jesus Christ has risen. Our Lord is risen so I guess. The question is, why did you not enter that into the song? I agree with you when you say that Christ died on a cross, and not a tree; however, I know that some parts of the bible use the idiom "hung on a tree" for crucifixion, such as Acts 10:39. I have been informed by several bible scholars that the idiom was common place as of the first century AD, likely to put a more poetic form on the form of crucifixion, especially when it was thought that the accused was executed wrongly, as is the case of our Lord. Given that it is a figure of speech, an idiom, it shouldn't be taken to mean that our Lord was nailed to a tree instead of a cross, but I suppose much of the figurative language was lost in translation. A blessed Easter to you, for Christ is risen indeed!

I agree with you in the literal sense, but I do believe the term "tree" was a figure of speech referring to the shape and material of the cross. The tree in this sense is an implied reference to Deuteronomy 21:22-23, which states, “If a man has committed a crime punishable by death and he is put to death, and you hang him on a tree, his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall bury him the same day, for a hanged man is cursed by God.” This is where we get the saying, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." Christ accepted this curse and conquered it at the same time, so we would not be subject to it, as long as we follow His narrow way. In His own words, "Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24) Not only did He accept this sacrifice; He also set an example for us to make our own sacrifices, repent daily, and hang our sins on that tree, cursing them like Jesus cursed the fig tree to death in Mark 11:12-14, 20-25.

Certainly the resurrection is our hope - but it is good and right to take time to contemplate the suffering and sacrifice of our LORD and Savior, Jesus the Christ.
