Man, I really can't wait to see the Shield run. Because I just beat Skul for my first time using legendary Shield and Warrior. And I didn't even really use Warrior until the end when I bumped him up to legendary. But Shield was so fun to use. He helped me finally beat sisters, chimera, joan, and hero. I had never fought those last three until the Shield run. Without any real Witch upgrades either, no alchemy, revive, or swap shield.

An early arrival! Your vids have been super helpful for my improvement, Beelz. Got Skeleton King the other day after having watched some of your guides, feeling really good about it. Saw Archlich 3 times but I couldn't take him. Already had Reaper with both the big room clears. Need to pay respects and do an Archlich run next time he shows up. I understand your pain in this one.

I loved werewolf, he is really strong, can run with many items and do really really well.... that is until you get to Joan... he cannot be used to even half of what he can do on that fight, his swap more then likely will end in you getting damaged/killed. So you need a reaally strong second skull that can carry him through that fight, that is the only breaking point of him is that boss fight.

I've had decent success with Vampire Fang, mostly because the last zone throws so much fodder at you that if you have it you're gonna get a LOT of health back. Combine it with the priestess's veil and you can basically go from a third of your health to full in 1-3 rooms. Though I can see why its a so-so item as its just as easy to lose the health you gain and it makes you prone to dodge slightly less.

I love how you demonstrate some 'weaker' skull builds along with handful info on itemization,skill commentary not to mention beautiful gameplay. Hope you play other rougelike games!

I don't know if you remember, but I said a while back that I usually build my power skulls tanky, and it works for me. You should give it a shot. Not full tank, but three or four tank items at least. So far, about half of my finished runs have been with tanky power skulls, even Yaksha. I recommend trying to get Knight's Determination and Priest's Staff. As you can imagine, they synergize really well. I usually also grab Priestess's Veil, the item that gives random buffs (can't remember if that was the name), for the seals that give healing. If I'm not lucky enough to get these items, I settle for anything that decreases damage taken, items and seals, and even the Carleon Armor. I could be wrong, but if think with enough damage mitigation, and a few Endure seals, you can actually become invincible if you take enough hits. I'm pretty sure it has happened to me during the hero fight. Mind you, you should still try to avoid getting hit, but we both know that isn't easy with a power skull.

Wowow thank You for this video, it honestly taught me some things about creating my build even though i have quite a lot time put into Skul, i'm trully greatful! Also i hope that if You decide to do the upgraded pike boi showcase (i think he's called the Vanguard) You'll get blessed by the RNG gods and will be able to create the ultimate dash meme build with hunter's boots, spiked pauldrons, coward's cape, hero's holy sword and the item that has a chance to reset Your dashes which's name i forgot - it's so much fun!

Seeing you sell off that Alchemy item at 3:30 or w/e was painful lol, alchemy's one of my favorite inscriptions. Def woulda gone for an alchemy run getting those 2 so early on.

looking at the items you encounter in retrospect is a very interesting experience, because with the items presented to you, you likely could have had a very strong magic set with the archlich if you kept things like the mana engine; but had an equally strong run by forgoing the Lich in favor of the Mad Dog strategy.

I definitely like balance skulls the most because on one end you have arch lich and warlock who just come in and deal metric butt tons of damage right off the bat, and then you have skulls like mummy and frost who just do crap.

Really recommend werewolf with hunt , its a wickedly powerful skull at legendary. Just got an insane DPS build with him where I got close to max madness (maxed bone of swiftness, black steel dagger, thief armor, hate stone, rake) combined with master fighter, rear blast, long bow and gun powder sword + Orc quintessence double damage. Absolutely melted through the fourth boss and hero in seconds.

Piercing winds is not considered an item attack by Rear Blast, so it won't proc the 80% physical damage bonus, unfortunately. I tested it yesterday. Jagamon thorn and thief armor do work though. Maybe the damaging effect has to be written in the item's description (as opposed to the side bonuses like piercing wind, blizzard, swamp, etc) ? Or it might just be piercing winds that's bugged, I don't know. x)

Once you used bones to upgrade a skull, will the skull remain upgraded for further runs, or do you need to upgrade them from scratch each run?

I know this is like a year old, but werewolf is by far my favorite common, and maybe my favorite speed skull. You dash around like an idiot and attacks very very fast

I like to use Madness and march with werewolf with the jump skill (sorry i really bad remember names) the one who have 3 jumps.

3:15 you forget to mention insignia is a reasonable boost do phys damage early on too, usable by any auto attack characters. So its not a completely dead gold item either. Knuckles still the best though. Insignia's make it do damage.

Is swapping very important in this game? I rarely swap once i get a get good unique or legendary skull

I would say that, due to the fact that shadow knights gives a shield, you could have actually taken it and felt like it was just as safe of a bet. You're doing great damage with it, the damage of the attack is really good, and you get shield. That is no different than more life, in my opinion, except the longer you survive the more life you can gain. 5 minutes? 150 hp.

I remember playing like 10 runs of this game and gave up its way too hard lol

How long does a successful run of Skul take? For example, my first successful run of Hades took me about 40 minutes, but I can now consistently finish a run of Hades on 16+ Heat in 20-25 minutes.

I think that's Raider at the end inflicte more damage, than Werewolf.

the werewolf basic attack with all the attack speed makes it look like the ninja basic attack and if beelz wasn't so polite, we would of seen ninja with all that attack speed. if only there was also the mist dude giving attack speed too.
