In a 6A championship game you had to see to believe, Weslaco sent Midway home state runner-ups after the Pantherettes gave up eight runs in the bottom of the seventh in a heartbreaking 11-9 loss in the state title game.
The Midway Pantherettes were celebrating too early. So I loved how the Lady Panthers came back and gave them a huge dose of humble pie. I'm so proud of the Weslaco Team. The girls were AWESOME!! Congrats to the Lady Panthers! #956RAZA

Agree 💯 That was all coaching man you ride the starter til the end. you brought in another girl in with 2 outs left in the state championship and expect her to perform with all that pressure. Then you bring back the starter only to set her up to fail. She took the confidence away from her when she took her out. If the players have to play above adversity then the coach has to be above the finger pointing when it doesn’t work out. This is coming from a Weslaco fan. If I was parents from Midway the coach throwing the pitchers under the bus would bother me.
Observer here, but that pitcher was absolutely devastated. There is something else I saw from other videos. After the walk-off the 3rd basewoman, throws her glove and walks right by the pitcher without a bit of condolences, togetherness or picking up your teammate. If someone can explain a good reason for that I'd love to hear it.
It's important for the Midway team to realize that great teams can experience great losses. The key is to continue to believe in their abilities and work optimistically towards next opportunities. I hope this setback fuels life-long determination for other courageous achievements on and off the field. Though I am unaffiliated with USC, they have the best team saying: "Fight On!"

How ignorant are the Valley people-this is the Waco TV station , it’s all about your local people, do you Corpus or San Antonio stations talking to Valley coaches in any sport when they win - of course not it’s about the teams in their coverage area
