What is the difference between the PVL coils 455 140 and 460 190... can either be used on the stock 820..tks jim

The 455 140 is an analog coil. Very basic design with built in ignition chip module. The 460 190 is a very advanced design. Technically superior in every way. It is digitally programmed to fire at a very low 300rpm @ 26deg BTDC, which allows for easy recoil starting. Once the 460 190 hits 1000 rpm, the timing advances to 44deg BTDC, and timing does fade as RPMs increase, like the 455 140 does. It has a built in 9000rpm rev limit, so it won't over rev and explode. Now some consider that rev limiter as a drawback because they want to race and push the engine to the limits and beyond. Fortunately for those people, we still hav the analog 455 140 without the built in rev limiter. It doesn't have the other features, but at least you can rev it until it explodes.
