Hi Phil that was a blast from the past and a great bit of filming by yourself and brought back memories of when I worked there on maintenance for about 9 months loved all the nurses and doctors there and the maintenance team I work with worked with a Jamaican guy called Clarence and a tall Muslim guy called who was a good lad to so a course in brought back memories been as I have worked in every inch of that hospital actually enjoyed working there lots of nice people and friendly staff yours faithfully Paul Hixson from Coleshill Warwickshire great video bought back memories.
Hi Phil. Another good video.Although I never set foot in Hall am hospital,as it was known,I did have an occasion to visit the district hospital,in Edward Street.Sue's cousin,Evelyn who we were close to and adored, had to have her 4 wisdom teeth removed. She was on Farley Ward which was female surgical. She went in on the Thursday had her op on the Friday and was discharged on the Monday. We visited her whilst on a weekend pass. This was in July 1970.Nowadays,when you need to have wisdom teeth extracted under a general anaesthetic ,you are in and out within 4 hours.
The newly built hospital is a nightmare to travel too, parking is a joke, bus travel, even worse, Walsall Manor Hospital A&E is inundated, all this in the name of progress.
Hi Phil I don't understand why they would move Accent and Emergency further afield. All they had to do was develop the site a bit more to make it easier for people to access the services .all the best Paul
But why do we have to keep going further, to get any treatment, it was a shame they closed so many small hospitals, they could have made them for the elderly
I can’t understand why it’s built as it has less beds than the two hospitals it’s replaced and it’s cost more to build. Plus the amount of money it’s cost to build new multi story car park such a total waste of money by the health authority.
