@M soccer is also the weakest sport with no contact or you get a card for being a wittle bit wough, over dramatic plays, small scoring and boring to watch, and to be fair, all states love afl dumbass, the 4 states are just the ones with teams
two of the best comebacks i have ever seen, and im not a die hard eagles fan. 9 goals down in the 3rd against geelong and to win, legendary. the other win was impressive also! good job eagles!
Ah, I remember the Geelong game - I had started watching the game, and after Geelong really got ahead it seemed like it was going to be just another day at Skilled Stadium, so I went in my room. A little later dad's calling out "Jaxson get out here, the Eagles are coming back!". Sure enough we'd started kicking goals in a row, and I was glued to my seat. When the siren went, we were all in shock, wondering "did that really just happen"? Great feeling. ^^
thats just gold a hard pill to swallow for cats and blues fans, but to the blues credit they almost topped us at subi... and for us to win like that against the cats at skilled was huge (but yes i know cats fans about the 135 pts dished out this year) still the premierships are testament!
More than 16 seasons later and this remains the Eagles last win at Kardinia Park. Reckon Geelong will have never forgotten this result and might keep powering on over West Coast whenever they play in Victoria for evermore!
I remember that great game vs Geelong in 2006. One of the best games ever. Geelong were a very, very good side but West Coast in 2006 did the unthinkable. It only made Geelong angrier from 2007 onwards.
541 points is the margin that Geelong has outscored the Eagles in the subsequent eight matches they have played against Geelong at K.P since that fateful loss in 2006.
Eagles will be back... a proud club with a winning culture. Kudos to Geelong for their reign and here's hoping for another Eagles Geelong GF classic... hopefully we'll win by a mile like we did back in the 90s haha
failings like this one in 2006, made Geelong the great side they are today. They took a good hard look at themselves and worked harder to become the best...
This was early 06 and was the last year I had membership with the cats. I gave them 2006 to get better and my patience ran out. Then look what they've done. I could never be a Tigers or Melbourne supporter!
No, the guy I originally replied to did. Facts are facts, and the fact here is that the padding makes the weight and force of the object higher. If you watch (especially running backs), they use the extra weight and forward motion to hit the defender and blow by them, thus makes it harder to stick tackles like in real footy, it means that the injuries can be more severe compared to footy in some cases whereas in others it is not. The players know that they can use the padding to their advantage
as a hawks supporter, i have to say these are absolutely brilliant comebacks, easily on par with the great essendon comebacks in the early 2000's, such as essendon-north melbourne. too bad they cant play this well now, they have lost all those brilliant players from 2010. however, there is talent there, and within 3 or 4 years, they will be back in the eight for sure.
God THAT day at Geelong was so, so, so great - it was one of the best days I've had supporting the Weagles. I've never seen a crowd eat their own at 40 points up like the Cats fans did that day! No wonder they lost!
@VictorYong36 I think he performed it at the 1991 Grand final between West Coast and Hawthorn. They drove some sort of bat-mobile thing onto Waverly Park, and it just went downhill from there.
If you're a West Coast fan you will see your team in a grand final every 4.6 years and win a grand final every 7.7, if you're a Fremantle fan you will see your team in a grand final every infinite years and win a grand final every infinite years
Yea its so great only one country likes it, Australia is the only country with a professional league in Australian Football but we have just started to spread the game internationally & already there are amateur leagues all around the world.
and cox, and glass, and stenglein, and etc.... Dude, apart from our largely sub-par foward line there were many more contributors than those you mentioned
@supersubaru555 im an eagles supports so i totally agree with everything u say about Woosha. He started coaching the Eagles when they were towards the bottom and within a few season took them to glory and since he's shown that ability he deserves a go with this young team. When it comes to Bomber one of the reason he lied and walk out of Geelong could be because people within might of blamed him for Ablett's departure in a way since we now know how bad their relationship was.
I am a Geelong supporter, and we effectively wasted 2006 and 2008. We can beat Hawthorn in the next 40 Grand Finals, but 2008 is still lost. That was my point. Wasted seasons happen, yes, but regardless of what you do, you can never get that wasted season back.
if there's one thing i know about west coast, is that they r DEFINITELY capable of WINNING the PREMIERSHIP in 2015, hopefully they can SMACK HAWTHORN'S ARSES IN THE GRAND FINAL
