The third official theme song of the West Coast Eagles Football Club (used between 2018 - 2019)
The West Coast Eagles are an AFL football club established in 1986, and officially joined the VFL in 1987 alongside the Brisbane Bears. Their third anthem was a shorter version of their second anthem, removing the unpopular beginning. In my opinion, this makes the song a lot better after a win, even though the rest of the song seems a bit weaker. Under this anthem, the Eagles won them the thrilling '18 premiership against Collingwood, and all anyone thinks of from that Grand Final is the phrase "Sheed from the Boundary".
Lyrics:
(opening)
We're the Eagles, the West Coast Eagles,
and we're here to show you why.
We're the big birds, kings of the big game,
we're the Eagles, we're flying high.
We're the Eagles, the West Coast Eagles,
and we're here to show you why.
We're the big birds, kings of the big game,
we're the Eagles, we're flying high.
Ooo, we're flying high,
we're the Eagles, we're flying high.
(drums)
We're the Eagles, the West Coast Eagles,
and we're here to show you why.
We're the big birds, kings of the big game,
we're the Eagles, we're flying high.
We're the Eagles, the West Coast Eagles,
and we're here to show you why.
We're the big birds, kings of the big game,
we're the Eagles, we're flying high.
We're the Eagles, we're flying high.
