DO YOU LOOK STIFF WHEN YOU DANCE? In this west coast swing dance lesson we will cover why you might look stiff and how to look more fluid.
When we first learn to dance there is so much to think about and try and remember. It is really easy to look stiff while you dance because of these thing.
We will cover footwork and body movement to help you get less stiff and more fluid while you dance!
We will share drills to help improve your body movement. Getting you moving and dancing on the social dance floor.

In most skill acquisitions (sport, dance, music and other arts), most teachers only give the model that the trainees should acquire : "this is what you should do". Most of the time, compliant trainees are convinced that they have executed the move correctly, be it rotation, weight change, slide, etc. If they are videotaped, they would realize they did not do the request correctly, then they are left with : "what do I do now ? Why couldn't I do it ? What prevents me from doing it ?" However, Brian and his team have an exceptional pedagogy approach. They also show what went wrong, why, and lead the trainees from "where they are" to "where they are supposed to be". They stand apart from most teachers who do not know how to transfer their skills, including world champions. Moreover, they show they really care and insist that I improve my dance, only with the free videos ! I wish I lived in Kentucky and attend to your classes ! Thanks a ton. You are awasome.

WOW! Thanks for the awesome compliments. We do care a lot and absolutely love helping dancers. I've been at this for 25 years now and work really hard to trying to convey what I know in the best way possible. Dance is our business but what's beautiful about it is that the more people we help free, the more people are willing to invest money into dance. This is not a complaint. But you did say you'd link to a rolling/footwork drills video and an isolations drills video. I don't see it. Thanks for all your help. I find WCS Online videos extremely usable and helpful. Now if ONLY we could start dancing again!
