West Ham showed flashes of promise in their 5-1 Carabao Cup loss to Liverpool, but defensive frailties once again proved costly. Starting to fear that “JLo” was just a lucky manager who was in the right place at the right time early in his career (taking over Emery’s Sevilla team & then being given that unbelievable Spain team that got him the Madrid job). Since taking Madrid job he seems to have been found out a bit. Struggled badly to get a tune out of mega stars at Madrid, did “ok” at Wolves but was out performed by O’neill once he took over & now seems totally lost with a good crop of players at West Ham. Really concerned that he wont see the end of November at this rate, & results coupled with the boards antics with concessions could soon turn things nasty again.

We were left in a very poor state last season and a big spend was required. Am I convinced the scarf got the right players in..? Yes and no..Summerville is a yes as is obi wan..the others … the jury is still out on those.. is Loppy the man to lead us to glory? I'm at the stage where I want to see Irving start ahead of Guido and/or Soucek at Brentford. That's probably not a good sign! The scoreline was harsh tonight against some very talented forwards. We also did not get the rub of the green, but things need to turn round quickly or we may spiral.

Yeah good summing up, fair play to Liverpool they've got some fab quality players & look polished. We're too slow at the back & need a clinical striker, and slow French league 1 players struggle in the PL. I think AWB & Kudos should've started, if Kilman hadn't fumbled his open goal we'd have had a chance at 2-2 and replaced Alverez after his yellow to hold on for pens. Lots of pressure now on J-Lo to find his AA+ Team that doesn't run out of power to win the next 2 & get a draw at Spuds, lose all three & my guess is Sully could well pull the trigger early well before Xmas, he did it to Moyes in his first stint. BTW can someone tell Tim that there's talk of Celtics Rodgers may well be leaving them soon. 🤔⚒

We downgraded moyes. Spent tons but didn’t get a striker that wasn’t old. Loopy had to much pressure to play a better style than moyes and we spent tons. He clearly isn’t up to it. I’m sorry to say but I’m done with loppy, I know I should give longer but there’s no way he randomly figures it out

The million dollar question is have players refused to play for J- Lo because they have lost all respect on the basis they can see he doesn’t have a clue? You don’t need to be Einstein see we have real quality in the team and that these results and overall interplay is not there and that something is seriously awry. 1. Their first goal was offside 2. Tidibo was manhandled in the box whilst heading from a free kick - stone cold pen 3. At least one of thier handballs should've resulted in a pen 4. Antonio was virtuy assaulted and the fella only got a yellow 5. But we were still bang average That said I've seen enough that given time and or with the right coach we could be top eight. Why does Kidman turn to the side when he’s expecting a shot? He did it more than once. It’s lazy defending. He should be attacking the ball. Alvarez gave the ball away a lot. We found it difficult to deal with their pressing and kept giving the ball away, but we rarely put them under the same pressure. Technically they were/are better. I thought Todibo looked ok for his first game against class opposition. I agree in spells we played alright.

You need to go to Specsavers. The first handball was a clear hand to ball the second maybe less so but another ref may have given. Another possible pen was when Bowen was grappled to the ground, again on another day may have been given. So a few turning points that didn’t go our way. But overall a poor performance yet again.

Football can be a matter of opinion. I thought Tatibo was ok.. Summerville looked good but had to defend too much than attack. It was against us, away and a 💩 ref. Their first Gakpo was just offside but without VAR not spotted. I saw some good football by us in spells, we had them under pressure but again not clinical enough. I’m more positive than you Gonz… 😉 yeah it’s another 5.1 at theirs but I don’t think the score line reflected the whole game.

As you’ve said before Soucek’s aimless running in the midfield confuses all the other defenders and leads to a battering. When will the coach make the defenders actually mark the opposition players.? When you mark players the game becomes simpler and players like Alveres will find he can make better decisions with his passion. And I would demand the fullbacks mark tight the opposition wingers. Arsenal gave City real problems by marking players from the midfield to the defence. Our players worked hard with no real structure to their game. And that inevitably leads to collapse.because the foundations are weak. And that’s down to the coaching. When are we going to wake up.? COYI. ⚒⚒⚒and strengthen the things that remain. Got to disagree, I thought Todibo was alright and I saw some sparks of what he can be capable of. They really need to work on their finishing because they could have put away quite a few more goals if they were more clinical. The ref was absolute 💩 too which didn't help. One of their goals definitely offside. Think it's ridiculous they don't have VAR in cup games when it's available.

I can't understand not addressing the striker issue was addressed properly. I think Ings and the new German striker could work. Antonio is a good substitute to call on. Our defence is a shambles. Killman is ok but not forty millions worth. I agree we looked ok for a lot of it. This could be a springboard as stupid as it sounds. The next two games could shape the rest of our season.
