The FEC didn't exist in 1977. I've read two of your posts about Forest and both are factually incorrect

I was there in 77, with a couple of mates, we were only 14, and in the North Bank. From my memory, Forest had a decent mob in the South Bank, their allocated end, but got set about by the West Ham there. They were escorted to the West Side stand ,up the North Bank end ,with chants of " come up the North Bank " from them. The Forest just started singing, when they were again set about by the West Side mob, and were then escorted out the ground. No shame on Forest, West Ham, was a really tough frightening place in the 70s, and folklore has it ,the coppers, eastenders themselves, would, to a point, turn a blind eye to opposition fans getting done

One Forest Special, at least, got held back because of the trouble, though one fan made it and joined us in the West Ham Social Club. Three of us stood on a side terrace. They knew we were Forest but left us alone, decent people. I had heard bricks thrown and seen Forest fans climbing out over the turnstiles when I arrived by coach. I think the problem was that Forest couldn't group together in the South Bank or see who was who. It looked like complete chaos, though there was no panic. I had a good view from the side. I suspect a lot of Forest just kept their mouths shut. West Ham got segregation at the City Ground so we will never know how they would have fared under similar conditions, well I expect, knowing them. Better than Chelsea.

The Forest Executive Crew did not exist until the early 1980s, they were named the FEC after the Executive Stand (the old East Stand) was built at the City Ground in 1980, so I dunno where you get your info but it's wrong. The Forest crew of the 70s was the Mad Squad.

@@manutd7015Heard Forest had a decent mob in the early 00's, as you said never knew they were about in the 70's and 80's. Just goes to show, not many people know Arsenal were in the top 3 firms in London as well from 84 onwards. Done the ICF twice in their own manor in 85 and 87 when they were in their prime. Had a proper tear up and ended up even with Millwall in their prime at Highbury in 88.

@@andymusson3889 We were good in small groups as well. A lot of United's support was Hoolies and I'd say we were taking 5 to 10.000 to away games and sometimes more. But we were not always together some of us used to travel the night before the game and stayed after the game. A good stopping off point for us on the way back was Sheffield. We used to have a few drinks there. I'm only talking about 100 at the most. We didn't have the numbers in the away sections either. But we were in there. City, Villa, Chelsea, Spurs, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham, and loads more from Division 2 and to this day. We have at least 4 big firms in name I mean. About 50/80 handed. The MIB, ICJ, MOSTON RATS AND THE RED ARMY and I forgot the COCKNEY REDS. so at least 5. There are quite a few more around Manchester I was part of the ECCLES REDS in my time and we had a bit of a name for ourselves. But places like Middleton have a good firm and obviously Salford. Remember when Salford took on the Birmingham Zulus and battered them, at the boxing. Manchester is full of United fans I don't care what anyone says. I know because I know.

Honestly can say we never had a problem with Forest home or away, they turned up at OT in a huge escort in 77 or 78, hundreds of United ran at them and they scattered, when the police sorted it out we had about 150 + amongst them and went in their sections. The rest is history, that was the game i was arrested and was thrown in a police van. My first arrest that. And we lost 4.0.

@@mickfoskett6629 Totally agree. Think i've seen a few of your posts before and i might be wrong but think you're an old school Man Utd fan? Would be interesting on your take on Man Utd Arsenal down the years. Cockney Reds turned up a few times in North London but got battered one year on the Holloway Rd. Interesting O'Neill said he rated Arsenal the best mob in London back in the day. Have to admit we never really turned up at your place before 84/85, but had a few scraps with your lot at Deansgate.

@@zigzung5569..hi mate, yes I was one of the cockney reds, born in Salford but family moved to finchley in London when I was 5 so grew up right on arsenal and spurs doorstep!..when I started being active in the 70s Arsenal imo were the top firm in London with West Ham 2nd...I was at both of those incidents you said..we came out of Holloway tube about 50 of us,saw a few arsenal outside the pub opposite just by the bridge, can't remember the name but it had a black front...we thought it would be a fiddle but as we rushed it more arsenal came out to front us,Miller was one of them, there was more arsenal than we thought, caught us by surprise as they threw bottles and glasses at us,we had to leg it,one of my mates slipped in the road and they gave him a kicking...at Sandgate we were waiting for the arsenal train to come in after the match,we hid on the stairs, arsenal rushed off the train and fronted us,forced us down the stairs and we couldn't get up there again,my only excuse is there were only about 10 of the proper united firm there the rest were "barmies"..but fair play to arsenal,i didn't think they'd get off the train!!..arsenal were. Definitely the best firm in London in the 70s but as the years went on West Ham,Chelsea and spurs got stronger and by the early 80s arsenal imo seemed to drop away, maybe Denton passing had something to do with it but don't know really...had a few hairy moments in the north bank too😉..stay safe fella!👹
