Gonna catch up with the second half tomorrow. Enjoyed this mate, you looked knackered there like. I live near loch Lomond which is grim for midges. They can sense I'm English
Hi, still enjoying watching this epic months after it was first uploaded, really shows the strength of character needed to finish this walk during summer midgefest.....could you let me know what the instrumental music is that starts at 26:38 till the video end? All the best.....
You know what mate, the SNUGPAK poncho really let me down when i did the west highland way. It let water in when i really needed protection and ultimately almost compromised my safety. So note to the wise, steer clear from snugpak products they are rubbish. Loving your videos though Dazzy 👌
Really enjoyed for video mate. Me and the wife walked it 4 years ago. Beautiful experience and we meet some fantastic people. Looking forward to part 2. The midges were a fucking nightmare....
Awesome video! I’ve been looking forward to it ever since you announced you were going and you haven’t disappointed - can’t wait to see the next instalment. Great to see the Huntsman in action making the walking stick/tarp support 👍👍👍
Alright mate, great vid, me and a friend are doing this next month but when planning accommodation at beinglas campsite in Inverarnan but when I went to book I realised that sadly the campsite have lost their lease and are closed for taking new bookings - can you remember if there were any decent wildcamping spots up at that end of the loch at Inverarnan? cheers
Thank you mate! That's sad to hear about beinglas campsite its a great stop off point. I did notice a few campers just outside of the campsite, right besides river falloch. That could be a potential spot. Good luck with your trip!
Really enjoyed this video. Shame about the stratosphere, give the dutch army hooped bivi a try, you can find them on the army surplus sites. As for the midges, even with insect repellent and pre treatment..... they are still there lol. Maybe walking in a different season.? Looking forward to your next instalment. 😀
Cheers Gary ill check out the dutch army Bivi. I like the idea of this kind of setup so I will try again. Yeah summer in Scotland is crazy! Hopefully ill have the next part up on Sunday
Great video! Controversial comment alert lol..... I have yet to own any Snugpak piece of equipment that hasn't let me down. I have the same Stratosphere and had the same issues you have. It now lives in my loft somewhere, never to be used again.
Haha that's fair enough mate, if I had multiple items from them fail I would feel the same. I have to admit I still like snugpak. You'll just not be seeing me in the Stratosphere again 😂
Haha welcome to Scotland bro midgies are next lvl I fly fish when the wind dies it’s Vaseline behind the ears … skin so soft lotion smoking and a lot of swearing 😂😂👍
Firstly, how the heck did I become UNSUBSCRIBED, I'm almost certain that I didn't do that. Secondly, what a great story, video, edit and adventure. I know just how much work went into filming and editing this video and you got it spot on, I even liked the music. This is why I get a little miffed with God, he gives us Wild Camping spots, beautiful scenery and then levels it all out with effin MIDGES. 🤷 Subbing for the second time.
Welcome back! RU-vid trying to hold the channel back or something? 😆 Thank you so much mate, makes it all worth while when I see comments like this. Midges are satans spawn! 😂
Oh don't come to Scotland without a wee tent inner mesh and outer.. Its the only way to get a break from the midgies.. Also head net and fingerless gloves.. Once you cook get in your tent to enjoy your food.. Unless there is a breeze the midgies will not let up.. Our midgies up here are relentless do not underestimate them they will drive ye nuts.... Great video you done well 😀
Yeah I think you're probably right, or at least it would have helped. I've had too many bad experiences with it now though so I've decided to return it
A quick question on ticks, I have hiked several multi overnight camps, and stealth camps over some long distances, and just wear shorts, but never had a tick as of yet, how many ticks have you had? as this worries my for contracting Lyme disease, cheers, great video
Sounds like you’ve got lucky haha they seem to love me! Although I don’t use bug spray… something I might start doing. I’ve had quite a few ticks but I’m constantly checking so I manage to get them out early.
