Every time I feel down and out, I look at that video of 'Alvin Kallicharan Destroys Dennis Lillee' and I'm ready to face the world again.

Alvin, thank you for your stories and knowledge. It is always great to listen to legends, your destruction of the Demon Dennis Lillee is still talked about almost 50 years later. I remember with much fondness my old man talking about you Kanhai/Sobers/Hall and those generations at the dining table over a glass of red or a rum and coke.

Okay, I agree with u. But who&what weakened WI cricket?! What's the reason?! Are u taking adequate steps to bring it back to its past glory.?I wd like to see the 'original' WI team again! Good luck.

American TV undermines everything it touches. Before the 80's, England was both destination and enemy. But American influence in the Caribbean saw many youngsters seek easy money, emulating American sportstars. Athletics, basketball..People migrated to the US after seasonal work there, rather than idealised England and English sports. This is my opinion. It is a slow spiritual erosion that begins with consumables, lifestyle and movie images, snowballing into distorted values, winner takes all, individualism. 'Get rich quick' replaced steadily propering together. Cricket began to seem old-fashioned. Others might disagree, but this is my take.

Unfortunately, the W.I administration horribly mismanaged cricket when they were on top of the world in the 70's ....today their young players have to go to India to beg for a job in the IPL.
