Yes , hes slamming gears through but do you hear the gearbox slip?? Unfortunately this is how buses were driven at the time of service. He lifts the throttle JUST enough to avoid slip through, look at a vid from birmingham busways years back in service and the poor atlantean was being killed with foot down changes, Hey we all love a thrash vid but that was not what was being done here. The driver here giving what we want to hear and a great bus that could pull away full load in a cloud of diesel smoke no problemo!!
Notice how it's changing gear a bit later after the driver puts in a different gear. The gearbox has probably been altered so it doesn't ruin the brake bands when slamming the gears.
