I took this video in summer 2011 on my electric bicycle. I biked all over the neighborhood. West town is a neighborhood located 2-4 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Long ago it was mostly German then Italian neighborhood. The main intersections of West Town are Damen Avenue and Chicago Avenue. The architecture is beautiful. No two buildings are the same. Each building is unique. The neighborhood is relatively safe and has seen a huge revitalization/gentrification in the last 10 years. Greystone mansions and new condos are still being built despite a slow economy. West Town is great place for working professionals with dogs. The area is very vibrant with many restaurants and corner bars in the area. You see people jogging and bike riding everywhere. Rents are affordable but slowly rising. West Town is so close to downtown, yet a quiet relaxing place to live.
